unless marin ghosts him :|
So far Ray and Marin have been pretty responsive (same day reply) and super helpful when I ask dumb questions. I saw a thread where someone didn’t get a response in months, but glad they haven’t given me the same experience.

So.. can we get a hint? Is the first number on the chart a 4xx or a 5xx on 93?

The hint will be in two weeks followed by another two weeks to build the suspense. Almost like my dude, @razorlab, said two instances of two weeks.

It’s a cold side only.. it’s port agnostic.
Sure, but I personally have no reference to show that the hot side is identical. This is a "Supercore" product, so its not like I am getting the same hot side back that I sent in. I would be getting an all new hot side that was built for the 2-port with no consideration of the 6-port manifold. Based off odds alone, I would assume it doesnt fit. A couple people have said they think it would, but without any solid evidence or background for believing it. Hence my holding out for more solid info.

You don't send anything in to FP. They send the supercore and you swap it out into your hotside.

Precisely! Hence the need to confirm compatibility with the 6-port manifold with turbine housing. The detail you might be missing is that its not actually "cold side only" as you originally said. It also has a turbine wheel on it, already assembled and balanced etc. A turbine wheel that they designed based on reverse engineering of the 2-port B58 turbine housing.

The B58 turbine housing and exhaust manifold are integrated together as one piece. Some B58 have a 2 port manifold with integrated turbine housing, and some B58 have a 6 port manifold with integrated turbine housing. FP is selling what is referred to as a "Supercore" for the 2-port B58. This is essentially a complete turbocharger minus a turbine housing.

This supercore was specifically engineered to be installed to your original 2-port B58 manifold with turbine housing. Since they took no consideration of the 6-port B58 manifold with turbine housing, compatibility would be purely coincidental. To use this supercore in a 6-port manifold would require that the 2 and 6 port turbine housings share identical internal specifications and CHRA clamp interface, etc.

My B58 has the 6-port manifold with turbine housing, the one that they were not designing this turbo for to begin with. So I am wishing for solid compatibility information that says both manifolds fit identical supercores.

They very well might! It could be a direct fit. But the only way anyone would know, is to find out. Somebody might have already, and have this information. But I do not have it, and Forced Performance does not have it either. So for now, I am waiting until I can confirm if it is compatible or not, without having to personally send in my exhaust manifold with turbine housing for them to check it out. But it may come to that at some point if I cannot find a reputable source that already knows the answer.

I literally stated it was a supercore, it’s even in what you quoted.

Just making sure you had the full picture. It seemed like you were implying that by virtue of it being a supercore I should just assume it is compatible with a different manifold/turbine housing than the one it was designed for, without any sort of meaningful confirmation.

From all the photos I have seen it looks identical, but you are correct, I do not have 100% confirmation.

I just realized that it wasnt you who said its "cold side only" when I replied to you. That was a different member and I didnt realize it was 2 different people, my bad on that. Part of why I spelled it all out in baby talk cause I didnt understand where the confusion was coming from :D

Has anyone heard from @itsbassi ?

I'm afraid he might have tripped a little too hard again at a rave and has gotten lost/ pondering the true meaning of the universe in the desert. If anyone sees or hears from him please let him know we are very worried and would like some dyno results.

Why would FP not put out their own results for a product they’re selling?

Seems like many have had good experiences on other platforms, but this idea of a random community member being a guinea pig for a brand that has such a reputation is confusing to me.

Still looking forward to results, whenever they may come in. I had one of their custom 20Gs on my old WRX and it was positively amazing, had no issues with it at all.
