Hey all. Replaced my clutch 2k miles ago with PTBs ORG+ORG DMF. Standard pressure plate.

As of today, car is not going into any gear when the car is on. Went for a normal drive this PM, wasn’t even pushing the car, just a leisurely drive and felt the gears were going in a bit rough. Stopped at a red light and now the car won’t go into any gear at all. When the car is off it goes in smoothly without issue. Turning the car on with it already in first gear and the car doesn’t move or try to drive away on me.

Was about to enjoy a nice Labor Day weekend with the car but guess not. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the issue?

Clutch was installed by an extremely reputable shop here on the east coast. If I can provide any details, please let me know.

Getting kind of tired of my clutch issues with this car at this point as much as love the a90. Car does not get launched, tracked, drifted etc. just spirited driving on weekends and daily driven a maybe 2 miles each day to train station.

any help is highly appreciated.

Adding to “won’t drive away from me” or “creep” thing. When turning car on and already in gear, let’s say 1st or reverse - the clutch disengages normally and will drive off as I let go of the clutch pedal. Just won’t go into gear again after getting out of that gear (It’s how I got it in my driveway after the tow truck dropped it off).

How long did your original clutch last and are you pushing above stock power levels?

Too many to list
Sounds like the release bearing issue or a hydraulic issue. If the release bearing was installed incorrectly, it might have caused damage to the clutch.

You should have the car back to the shop and let them check it. Don't keep grinding the transmission.

Just curious how many total miles do you have on the car?

Car has 31k total miles. The original clutch was taken out at 29k miles. It was on its last legs. Power levels were stock until the new clutch was installed. Now it’s set up with MHD OTS stage 2 & flex fuel. Been filling car up with e40-50.

Yea, seems like a tow from NY to CT is what’s going to happen unfortunately.

I’ve seen threads on the release bearing issue but would that take 2k miles for it to show up on my car? I’ll add the car was driving great until this happened.

Is that typical for a mkv? My Evo IX MR's clutch lasted until about 90k with the car stock(ish).
