Hi folks. I think I've narrowed down the solution but would like to hear others opinions. I have a notch at the top dead center of my steering wheel. It isn't always there, it usually shows up after about 15-20 minutes of driving, sometimes sooner. When it happens, the wheel requires force to move it over the center point and creates a notch of resistance. It becomes difficult to steer straight, it's always off a little bit.

I believe this is the electric power steering motor that sits behind the steering wheel. There may be pinched wires or the motor itself is faulty, or the motor was built poorly and one of the weaker components is damaged. (Anecdotal evidence from the web)

Here is a video that best shows what I'm describing, hopefully this is helpful:

Thanks!

Does it do the same thing when lane departure assist is turned off?
Yes it does, even when I completely disable the Supra Safety System. I thought it might have to do with the steering intervention but it happens when that is off as well.

Mine does it as well and i’ve seen others comment in the past with having it too. so i think it may be just a “quirk” of the car. I know not a solution but maybe some peace of mind….. now if you do somehow fix it i’m interested to know so i can get rid of it for me too haha

Not a Corvette.
Electric power steering motor is in the actual steering rack, not in the wheel.

FYI, my 2020 doesn't do this, nor does my M240i. Something seems not right.

It could be the bushing in the rack, which can be adjusted for tightness. You can also take it out and repack it full of grease.
