Hi everyone! I’m new to the Supra world and this is my first sports car, so please go easy on me haha.
Looking for some advice on suspension/fitment for my 2026 manual GR Supra. I’ve done some searching on this forum and still can’t seem to make sense of my current situation. This has honestly been keeping me up at night, and I don’t know what direction to go at this point.
Since bringing the Supra home from the HKS HAS install, it’s mostly been sitting in my garage because I don’t want to drive it much until I figure this out. It makes me sick thinking about the money I’ve spent on the HKS HAS and install, just to possibly take them back off and switch to coilovers. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
This tire, wheel, and HAS setup was recommended by the shop I bought the wheels from. They said it was a very common setup and a good option since I could keep the EDC. I was pretty excited until I picked the car up and saw the front gap.
Current setup:
The front still isn’t going as low as I want. There’s still more gap than I expected, especially in the front. I’m trying to figure out whether this is just the normal limit of the HKS HAS on these cars, whether the 18s are making the gap look worse, or if there’s something else I should be looking at.

- HKS HAS
- Front: Volk TE37 Saga S-Plus, 18x10 +25, 265/35ZR18
- Rear: Volk TE37 Saga S-Plus, 18x11 +34, 295/30ZR18
- Front and rear installed, with the front set as low as possible
- Shop used the HKS packers/spacers to get the front as low as they could

A few things I’ve already looked into:
- Alignment is drivable for now, but rear camber is still pretty negative. I plan to fix that with new rear camber arms once I get the height dialed in
- I’ve seen mixed comments online: some people say HKS won’t go low enough in front, while others on 18s say they were actually rubbing
- I’ve also read that the manual might not go as low as the auto
- Has anyone here run HKS HAS on a manual Mk5 Supra with 18s and had the same issue?
- Does the manual car sit differently enough that the drop ends up less than expected?
- Do 18s just make the remaining wheel gap look worse, even if the actual drop is normal?
- Is this basically the limit of HKS HAS in the front?
- Could the OEM spring perch still being there be causing this issue? I’ve included a photo that will hopefully help determine that.
- If I want it lower but still streetable, would you go with:
- switching to 19s
- a different HAS-style setup
- BC ASP / MSS / similar keep-EDC setup
- full coilovers
