Increasing frequency of CEL - AA Catted DP

Hey guys, I’ve had my Active Autowerke Catted Downpipe installed for a little over 6 months now. The first four months I had it, a CEL popped up twice and I cleared the codes. No big deal despite their no CEL Guarantee. Well now, I’m getting a CEL every 3rd or 4th drive. Same codes each time.

I’m going to be reaching out to AA to see if mine was part of the bad production batch but I’m wondering if anybody else is running into this issue with an increase in frequency of the CEL as time has gone on with their downpipes.

My car is not tuned, is a Manual with the only other “performance” mode being an HKS intake and AWE Resonated Touring exhaust.

No issues here....did you buy from a Vendor or AA directly? They seemed like goofballs when I talked to them on the phone (was asking about the downpipe and exhaust they made and I was on speaker phone while someone was blasting music and I couldn't hear them), hopefully they provide some decent support for you.

I would be pissed to see a CEL on my Armytrix catless dp. I can't believe it hasn't came on yet and its been 2 years and half(March 2022) since I bought and installed the dp when I traded in my 2.0 for my 3.0 Premium the very same month and now I recently moved to a county that doesn't have emissions.

I've had this issue for a year now. Changed out the first one. just haven't tried to get another one. Bit more difficult since I had sold my stock dp. I just consider the cel a warm glow and am now used to it.

2023 Manual here. I get it on every second or third drive and have done since I installed it. AA Catted. So much for the no CEL guarantee.

I had a catless for months until I unlocked the ECU and went with BM3. However, it's not as a big of an issue as you think it is. I saw the CEL as my car making more power lmao. I just checked the code every now and then to make sure everything is fine. Most of the time I just completely forgot about it. However I do see how annoying it can get when they guarantee no CEL.

I’m mostly annoyed because of the No CEL guarantee which is why I went with AA in the first place and paid a premium for that specific downpipe as opposed to going catless for way cheaper. Maybe I should take a note out of the book of @Sub-MkV and go Armytrix catless lol

Well a couple of people did get a CEL with the AA dp. Your best bet is to try to contact them again or contact speed industry see if they can help.

Got my mt in july 23 and installed the aa catted, awe nonresonated and mst intake in october. Parked the car for winter (canada). Since I started driving the car regularly in march/april of this year, i put 11000 km till now and had a cel showed up only once and went away in a couple of days. It was a hot day (over 30c) i took the car for a car wash, turned on the a/c while the car is stationary washed then parked it to hand dry. When I started driving, the cel showed up. I have heard from orher owners that hot weather would be a factor for cel to pop up. In my case the engine was hot, had stationary car wash, the a/c was on during the wash, then another 20 mins hot engine was at stop while hand drying the car. Not sure if that would cause the cel showed up. I didn’t do anything out of ordinary the cel to pop up otherwise. Oh also, I bimmercoded to start the car at sport mode always and i drive the car at sport mode always. Let me know how your experience was!

From my understanding, AA has been having issues with GESI so they've since developed another version of their AA catted downpipe that comes with a no CEL guarantee. I just got my Supra so I have not installed it yet, also hear that it's fairly new so I'm not sure which most people are running. I purchased mine from Meraki for $1125 shipped.

Strange , might be the new batch , as my AA has been on the car for 2 years and not a single cel popped up

Following. curious if anyone has installed the 'v3' version. AA dp is next on my buy list but if it causes CEL I'll go another route. Not about to keep reinstalling the downpipe especially if they're advertising and selling for a premium price.

Is the V3 the newest non GESI version?
