I built a 2025 supra online and sent it to my local Toyota dealer. A sales person called me and asked for me to come in to put a deposit down. Well, we sat down and went over the order sheet, a few minutes later he came back and said he could not order it. So is it possible to order a supra? Sorry, I'm new here.

Thanks. So probably locating a 2024 would be faster than trying to get a 2025?

No, you can't order one. You have to pick from what dealers are allocated.
I don't think that's entirely accurate - at least not here - You can order one, but the dealer can't.. well, order it. Dealers have to either wait until they magically get allocated the spec you ordered or more likely, horse trade with other dealers for your car's spec. For the record, the whole Toyota purchase experience closely matches their warranty/service department experience: It sucks.

This pretty much right here. What I was told when I was going to put in an "order" for what I wanted this Spring before finding the one I now have, they pretty much don't get to order what you want. They have to try and find one that is as close to what you want as possible.

Luckily there aren't really any options for this car other than paint color, interior color, and transmission option. The other addon things are stupid but most likely you'd end up paying a little extra for whatever bs extras they decided to add onto the car.

2024 are done and the last of them are shipping. 2025 allocations have already begun. Check toyota.com. Careful with add-ons in NOLA and Baton Rouge. Dealers up that way love to add things like VIN Etching and wax jobs for $2K to drive up the out the door price.

What colors and transmission do you seek?

I ordered my 2024 through Toyota SmartPath SmartPath - How it Works | Toyota. Not sure if this works nationwide but I did it in southern California. Basically, you find the build you want in their active inventory directory here: New Toyota Inventory Search (There's already some 2025's on there in my region)

Just filter by the spec you want MT, AT, color etc. Make sure the dealership it's going to is a SmartPath dealer. This is important to avoid any unexcepted dealer markups or dealer installed options because you know exactly how much they're selling it for with the build sheet. Mine in particular was in transit but it can also be in build phase or at the dealership not claimed (very rare). After I found the spec I wanted, I essentially added it to cart and checked out. Five minutes later, I got a call from the dealership confirming everything. Drove down to San Diego 4 weeks later and picked her up. Truly hassle free.

MSRP +2k over for installed dealer addons. Eghhh didn't care enough, really wanted the hazelnut interior with MT combo asap. GL!

Sounds an awful lot like you're saying you can't order one.

You can tell the dealer what you want and they can try to find it and/or trade for it is not the same as ordering what you want and then waiting for it to arrive.

I was looking for 2024/2025 automatic. My first preference is red. My 2019 Mustang GT is red. But inventory is very limited here in New Orleans/Metairie area. So I'll take a manual and any color besides yellow at this point.

Your only options now are white, black, red, and blue. Yellow is no longer being produced.

Autos are easier to get if that’s what you want. Seriously just go out of state to get it now probably at msrp or less. Check Toyota inventory website daily. A lot of us had to go out of state. Manuals are way rarer and harder to get as lists are long for them.

You cannot place a custom order with Toyota like you can with BMW.

You make a request for the exact spec that you want, and you're dealer will do what they can to find that exact spec produced and shipped to the country, sometimes making a deal with other dealers.

The allocation system is really frustrating. For essentially $60k, my personal opinion is that I should be able to get whatever spec I prefer. It's absolutely crazy that Toyota doesn't let customers choose options. Ford had an allocation system for the gt350, but at least if your dealer got an allocation they could order the vehicle with whatever options were desired.

OP, I think your best bet is to check Toyota's inventory site for cars available that meet your criteria and then check with the dealers receiving them.
