Already looking for PDR :( Had the car shipped enclosed and the driver must've kicked the panel when climbing through the window to get in.

Anyone get PDR on this area? The guy at the shop was asking if there's any body plugs that is accessible in the wheel well so he can get his tool behind the dent. I tried putting my hand behind the wheel liner to see if I can reach the dent but there's something in the way. Otherwise, I'd have to remove the wheel liner and try to find any plugs.

Side question. Did anyone get one of those Toyota pleather looking pouches for the manuals? Mine were just in the glove box with nothing wrapped.

I am in the process of getting some pdr work done too on the same panel. The guy i went to hasn’t worked on supras before and asked the same question. There isn’t anything detailed well on this forum but what he found in a pdr group was that there are some decently sized holes behind the door seal rubber (that rubber area where the tire spec sticker is located) that can potentially be used, but since he hasn’t done it, not sure if they go all the way through.

Expert paintless dent removal guys don't even need to get behind the panel these days to pull a dent like that. They glue pads onto the area and pull the dent out. No paint damage either. I've seen youtube video of the whole process on several dents WAY worse than that. It was something to watch and very impressive. Paintless dent removal techniques have progressed a lot in the last 5 years or so but a lot of the visit your home guys haven't really kept up and just want the easy jobs and the easy way. You need to find the guys that pride themselves on the tricky jobs if rear access is an issue or you don't want holes drilled in structure.

Seems like the quarter panel is a common dent point. I was researching other threads and they seem to all be along this area. Hope that rubber area would allow access. Could you let me know if you go through with PDR what they had to do? The weather here is not so nice and I'm not sure I'd make an appointment until the weather warms up a little. I will update this thread if I find some answers.

Glue was mentioned to me as well but more of a last resort if there's no other access points.

Here a quick video of the pulling method. I've seen huge dents removed with the glue method and pullers not slide hammers but this gives you and idea. You dent is pretty easy as it's quite large but shallow by the looks. Like I said there's a lot of dent guys that just wash and repeat what they are used to doing. Look on Youtube for the really serious dent removal with pullers and glue.

Not a PDR expert myself but I believe they generally prefer not to use the glue and pull method as that could potentially pull the paint off. You can damage the inside of the panel and it won’t be visible.

Push the inside and rust can potentially start there too if the wrong tip is used. I do my own PDR, and if there is no access, I use a glue puller.

I had to fix like over 30 hail dings on my dd the other year. Looks good as new., all done with glue puller except for one.

I almost had mine shipped too but flew and drove it back home. It cost me less to fly then to ship.
Yes I received a leather like pouch for the books that came with my 26, all that data & pouch was in a sealed plastic bag in the trunk area. I have seen online videos of people pouring hot water on a dent and it popped out, they did not state what the water temp was.

I'm wondering why the dealer isn't taking care of this? I had a similar situation with a new truck I bought - it showed up at my door with a ding in the hood, told the dealer and they took care of everything including sending a guy to grab the truck from my house and take it in for PDR then return the truck to me.

Had a Similar dent in that area had PDR done and gone.
Do you know how they went about it?

I wanted to properly break in the car and driving all that way just means sitting on the highway at a constant speed. Plus, weather is extremely cold right now and it's on summer tires so I had it shipped enclosed. Thanks for the confirmation about the manuals. Going to see if I can get a pouch.

I'm 99% sure it's the transport companies fault. They took pictures predelivery and the dent didn't show up. The dealer didn't arrange the transport, I had to do that myself so now I got to deal with the broker/transporter.

I had the same thoughts about breakin, my trip was about 345 miles down Interstate 81, but was told that the B58 was already broke in and not to worry as some take these to the track on the first day. These are not like a vette which needs that breakin, the manual states to keep the RPM's under 4500 and the speed under 100 MPH for the first 1200 miles which I have accomplished. The manual says nothing about vary speed up and down like other cars I have owed which includes 2 vettes and a Mustang Cobra.

Race engines apart I've needed to break in new engines when collecting vehicles from BMW's European delivery centre straight onto the Autobahn twice and a few times from Renault delivery as well Peugeot. Pretty easy. Just hit the Autobahn/Freeway slow lane and periodically let the speed drop down when it's safe to do so to a moderate speed and without lugging the engine give it WOT in a high gear to get the combustion pressure up and roll it off again. Cruise for a bit then repeat. A few dozen times and the rings are fully broken in no problems.
