Massachusetts, other inspection states, how are you passing with tunes and turbo upgrades?

Thinking of doing some stuff to the car but not sure how to pass emissions with a PI/Turbo if I went that route.

Is MA like CA where they check to see if you have the OEM map?

I’m not sure, all I know is you can’t have a tune that show the emission as “Not Avail”. MHD has an OEM cat setting that lets you turn them on.

I have a cloned DME so I can swap to stock whenever, I’m just wondering if you can run stock tune on a top mount turbo kit with PI under no WOT and just driving 25mph until emission kick in
Some counties are checking CVN in MA, but not all yet.

If it’s like any metro city like the tri-state, all OBD two sensors must be in the ready state. Most if not all big turbo tunes will shut off the secondary oxygen sensor in order to prevent check engine codes. I would discuss with your tuner your concerns. Potentially run a physical O2 self fix on the second oxygen sensor and keep it on, in order to pass state emissions.
