Take a look at the proportion of the wheelbase to the overhangs and come back. Short wheel base / large overhangs vs. longer wheelbase / the same mkV overhangs. Very different look. Plus.. you are showing an 03 Viper .. smh. This car is supposed to be 20yrs newer.

C7:
106.7 inched vs. 97.2.
Overall length: 176.9 vs 172.4
Lol.

Vipers have similar wheelbase / overhangs but the car is shorter and the long hood changes the entire look of it. This Supra won’t hold a candle to Vipers design or performance capability. Vipers are hyper car killers. This Supra will be lucky if it can out run a M3.
I mean, the new Z4 is supposed to be faster than the M2, and the M2 stacks up pretty well to the M3/M4...so the way I see it, roughly:
Supra > Z4 > M2 ~= M3/M4

I also don't see Toyota giving the new Supra much less horsepower than the Z4's 382hp; if anything, I'd expect more from the Supra's supposed new bespoke engine. Combine that with lighter weight and supposedly more "performance oriented" dynamics, unless you need 4 seats, I feel like the M3 is going to be lucky if it can keep pace with this new Supra.

Although I acknowledge both sides of the argument contain a lot of speculation about information we just don't know yet.

A) I really doubt this Supra will have M3 killing power
B) it may handle as well but yet TBD
C) Initially the talks were that the Z4 would be GT car.. but press releases from BMW says they wanted a pure sports car that you’d take out on a Sunday morning and pound the pavement. So I really don’t think they’d allow the Supra to outshine the Z4. Every insider said otherwise about the Z4’s core purpose previously.
D) my faith in toyota is low.. I’d rather be surprised than disappointed. So I set my expectations super low when it comes to performance and Toyota in the same sentence.

I'm pretty sure its the other way other. Tada-san has said the Supra will be the "pure sports car" and the BMW will be more of a luxury sporty roadster.

A90: body is 4380 Ă— full width 1855 Ă— total height 1290 mm (best car)
M2: body is 4468 Ă— full width 1854Ă— total height 1410 mm

pretty close, height is much lower (good)

will be quite close to Cayman GT4, which is a stellar looking car on the road

Thanks for posting this.

So according the to leaks the A90 is suppose to be around the dimensions as the Cayman. And the performance numbers are around the S and GTS, but at $10k-$20k less. The internet is complaining about the Supra, but not a word about the Cayman. The only issue for me is the manual.

I think the Supra could be in the same performance range as the M2 & current M3/M4.

However, reportly BMW will take the next gen M3 to a higher level.

I should have said front overhang. The are pretty similar. I think the main differences between the C7 and A90 is in the rear. The C7 has much less.

I was aware it was the older gen, but I couldn't find any decent ones of the 5th gen. Beside, its not like the Viper has greatly changed over time. Of course not, but there is like a $30k differences between the two. Well Bestcar is saying the 0-60 time of 3.8s does match that of the M4.

We can both post specs and pics all day. But like Guff said, the best way to judge the proportions is in person. And like he said, everyone that seen it at the private dealer events says it look good. So let's just chillax until the official unveiling to take place in a few months. :)

ZB I
Wheelbase 98.8 in
Length 175.6 in
Width 75.7 in
Height 47.6 in

ZB II
Wheelbase 98.8 in
Length 175.6 in
Width 75.7 in
Height 47.6 in

VX I
Wheelbase 98.8 in
Length 175.7 in
Width 76.4 in
Height 49.1 in

By no means I meant to come across rude.. just talking cars. GenVs are slightly different and SRT ensures to fix everything that was asked by owners of older generation and driving/owning one I can attest to that. It’s an amazing machine that’s well behaved and fast at the same time.

Dealers are typically filled with non car people. They think the Prius looks good too.. so can’t go by their word for anything. For them it’s a commodity that they can make money with.. so obviously they’ll say it looks good to hype things up.

Same here, typing on a forum vs talking in person can sometimes come off differently and not as intended. Agree, but if the GR Supra concept is anything to go by than it looks pretty decent in my book. Sadly with present day safely laws and regulations I doubt we'll ever see anything like the FD RX7 anytime soon. :(

The overhang and side profile looks acceptable to me.

FD RX7 is even sexier than a MKIV supra in my opinion and I have a MKIV supra. Lol yup, we’ll never see something like that again. :(

By the time the new Supra is out, there will be a new M3 and a new Cayman.

And the Supra is obsolete upon arrival...

Check out: "Next BMW M3 to be lighter and faster than current M3 CS"- https://www.autoblog.com/2018/07/02/202-bmw-m3-lighter-faster/

RIP unborn Supra MKV
^^6-Speed gearbox as standard and Between 450-500 HP.

Sounds like BMW is giving its customers exactly what they want, and I can respect and like that.

If the numbers are remotely correct with 8 series styling cues, the car will be a smash hit.

Toyota......

What gets me is FAKE VENTS!!! Ok now that I got that out of my system.

How is it that Lexus customers complain and complain and after all the years Toyota Finally listens and produce the Lexus LC500. The car is 90% its concept counterpart and built with the highest quality material and priced within their targeting range of under 100K??? Not to mention the engine and powertrain are both Toyota.

Does Toyota owners need to flood their email and site and complain that their Toyota cars are "Boring?" I feel Toyota is shifting all their dedication and focus onto their Lexus division and forgetting who started their heritage.

Like the LC500 example. Toyota could give us all the MKV Supra we all want but what's keeping them is anyone's guess.
