No engine internal changes right? Would be nice to get a "factory approved" stage 1 tune on other 2021+ cars
Apparently not, just a computer re-tune. Even if Toyota offered one, it might not even be worth the cost to do it - unless you needed to stay compliant with emissions type rules.

Depending on how much it costs and if it's CARB compliant, I'm pretty sure many people in CA would pay for it, including me.

Doubt it would be Carb, Toyota isn’t going to certify it as a flash tune

It shouldn't be too hard, BMW guys have been doing it for a while. The only issue is that it might require an FSC. If it does, out of luck. Can't flash it over the DME with E-Sys if it requires an FSC. If it doesn't though, it'll be a cool OEM plus tune that doesn't really void the warrantee for people who care about stuff like that.

I am definitely interested in this tune. Also waiting for Motec to release their M142 PnP.

After reading all the threads on aftermarket flash,, owners with unknown origin CEL, I will not go down that path.

Of course it will void the warranty. Firstly, this is a company that says driving over 85mph is abuse and more importantly, just because it is a Toyota tune, it doesn't mean it is certified for your parts or model. ?

You are happy to move to a full standalone but are scared about flashing the OEM DME?

Good luck with that.

The car won't even be available in North America, let alone be even remotely close to being CARB compliant. Nobody would pay for CARB certification for a model that isn't even sold here.

The final edition might not have a real power increase, Toyota is probably using the real BHP for advertisement. I'm just kidding ?!

I hope Toyota offers the tune and the parts for the current Supra owners like they did with their TRD brand.

I know it's a pipe dream :(

I was just making a point that if it were, I think a lot of owners would opt for it since the poster I was referencing didn't think it was the cost.

Doubt it. None of the other special model parts were offered openly. You needed the vin majority of the time.

Other companies have done this before. Ford in particular has offered tunes for several of their turbo cars which add more power and maintain the warranty. (I believe the FoRS tune was from Mountune - so not even an in-house tune).

So it's something that absolutely can be done. But I doubt Toyota would do it. though, it would be nice if they did offer a tune. I'd get it if they offered it for under $1500. I'm not keen on sending my DME to Finland.

Yes, because the tuner doesn’t have to second guess what each map does on the oem dme and there are lots and lots of maps to go over.

i know Motec runs great on the GR Yaris and GR86 platforms….so willing to give it a look when it becomes available. Tuners I have seen much prefer that to flash tuning. Basically what you see is what you get, no guessing...

What’s your reasoning on not liking the stand alone? I do want to know the drawbacks from your perspective
