Confirmed in community the greatest amount of hate you get is for holding wrong beliefs. I mean, it's been confirmed that AbZero is the best color.
Fake News.

There's no real hate, OP. Especially on this forum. We all have the same car. There have been a couple of Supra "purists" or whatever from ThatOtherForum™ that show up once in a while and start shit, but they usually get banned quickly for being dicks.

Aside from the occasional tiff between members, we agree on the important stuff, such as:

* Black Absolute Zero is the best color
* Auto trans is the best/fastest
* Swapping out your downpipe is modifying your exhaust
* What the word 'knock-off' means
* The 2.0 is a reasonable engine
* What "A90" vs. "A91" means
* Ecutek or bust

So agree on the important things, ?? enjoy the car. Fuck the trolls with their 'It's a BMW' and 'It's not a real Supra.'
If it wasn't the coolest color, it wouldn't be called Absolute Zero. It's scientifically confirmed.

OP here again and I appreciate all the feedback. Just to clarify, I don't care one bit about what others think about what I drive. I buy cars for me. I was just struck by how divisive this car is amongst certain people.

Already have the $10 anti-buffeting blades on order as well as the stuff to "stuff" the subwoofer. Seems like lots of good folks on here with a wealth of information that I appreciate already.

Not having Android Auto is the only real bummer to me so far so I'm looking at different phone mounting options. Seems like from what I read, Proclip is a preferred option but open to other suggestions as well. Thanks again...
Here is a link to a thread on phone mounts, and my post that describes what I went with. I have an iphone but you could use any ProClip adapter you want there. Either way lots of good examples of options in there.

My goal with my setup was to not block any airflow from the vents, as well as avoid overlapping the main infotainment screen.

You won't see much here except the auto/manual debate. Most of the hate are from other platform like facebook, youtube, reddit and so on.It's just a bunch of elite snobs that thinks they're better than everyone else. When I had a 2019 Miata, boy let me tell you, there was so much hate for anyone not owning a manual Miata. I've heard the same thing in the Mustang forum and they also hate the turbo 4 engine too, only V8 were allowed there. You will find toxic people where ever you go. People just hating because they want to start trouble, I guess.

Seems like the Proclip is the most popular option from what I've read on here. Any issues with the clip making indentations where it attaches to the dash/vent?

~ This is the one I selected… small not bulky, discrete, stable mount, clean design, doesn’t block the navigation or other controls, close to the drivers view, etc. I also opted for a black blended short 12” cord for charging while on the magnetic vent mount.

Nahh, switching to iPhone is easy :D. Or is that for another forum?

I switched to iPhone for the wireless CarPlay and the Supra Connect app. Wasn’t a huge deal to me.

I've come from a few ///M cars prior to the Supra. So while I do see plenty of hate online from the "nice bmw" people... I personally dont see that as an issue. I prefer Euro cars to JDM cars. So people saying its a BMW is a compliment to me. BMW interior > Toyota interior.

I think the Supra is a wonderful blend of the 2.

So blocks the start stop button but isn’t the steering wheel blocking looking at the actual screen of the phone?

~ The steering wheel doesn't block the phone screen at all. Also the start/stop button is easily accessed from the left side of the phone. The perfect placement limo. ?

I don't really understand all the discussions/arguments about the heritage, branding, manufacturing, etc... always loved the MkIV, owned M cars, owned a 2jz is300...none of those cars had any influence on me buying this one. I wanted a sports car, I had a budget in mind, MkV was on the list of cars to drive. I test drove it, I liked the way it looked, sounded, drove...I bought it. Who gives a f*** who made it or whatever other stupid arguments the haters make.

I get three type of people who talk to me about it.

1. People who love it.
2. People who can't figure out what it is. (My toyota badges are covered)
3. People who say stupid $*** like "nice BMW," is that a supra?!, oh automatic, ghey.

3. Is generally kids between the ages of 13-33 who are either ridding shotgun, or ridding in a $*** box so I take those opinions with an Atom of sodium.

In real life, it’s all positive. Online, you’ll encounter a relatively vocal crowd comprised of people who are definitely not in the market for this vehicle.

I believe you made a recent thread on bimmerpost that I read.

Assuming you end up in a G80/G82 eventually, be sure to give us a real-life owner comparison as the S58 is one option for some of us to move to from here.

Welcome!
