I think what A70TTR means by new front and rear is new headlights, grille, and bumpers. Topical refresh changes.
....

That's what I figured but tried to be hopefuly by thinking it was more than that.

You'll have to wait for the next generation RC which will utilize the GA-L platform that the LC500 and LS500 are on. The GA-L platform will provide a lower overall mass, improved front/rear weight distribution, and a lower center of gravity.

I really loved the RC's design but I didn't like the weight or the slightly sluggish auto. I am not annoyed by the lack of manual but man, make it kick from the start.

Agreed. My friend is an engineer for the TechnoFirst team in Japan. They switched over from the 350z/370z platform to the RC350. That was one of their main concerns as well as the firewall being weak. I was hoping for a more lightweight variant, but didn't come to fruition. Maybe the next model will give us what we want, where it missed with the current model. Love the overall design though.

Still not exciting. We're talking about the hope of 400 horsepower from a trim that hasn't even been confirmed yet, which would certainly be a big big upcharge from the base car if it even comes into existence and Toyota USA decides to sell it to us. And how much lighter could the Supra even be from the Z4 counterpart? Couple hundred pounds max.

If I wanted a BMW coupe, I could buy the M2 competition with more power for less money. Plus option for a stick or a legit dual clutch. Let alone the M4 itself, or other proven cars altogether like Corvette Grand Sport, Shelby Mustang, etc.

These rumors are still Z-car territory at best. For $60k. Maybe not quite as much :puke:as before, but still :puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke:

Based on current rumors.. it’ll be a failure. How big of a failure.. Toyota is yet to decide on that. I’m hoping Toyota does right by it.. 60k is a fierce territory to bring a 3300-3400lb 350hp car in automatic and expect it to succeed.

^ I agree. If the specs are similar to the 370Z in terms of power and close to similar weight 3300lbs+, then they really need to price this thing closer to what the 370Z is going for.
I still believe this merger between Toyota and BMW is bringing up the cost. The use of a BMW motor and chassis has to play a huge part in the outrageous “unofficial” pricing. I am still puzzled by the rumored price-to-performance ratio. I personally would have been totally fine with a GT-86 modified chassis, and LS500 V6TT with a decent manual if it could have lowered costs to $45-50k....but, we’ve already been around that block and beaten that dead horse.

Agree.

At 55-60K I'm expecting over 400HP period...

See below for reference, if I'm dropping this kind of money an M3/Cayman S or used R35 is within reach, is what I'm thinking mentally.

It’s really hard to distinguish the price since this car will be a half Bavarian, half Japanese breed. I believe it should be somewhere in the middle. Toyota and BMW collaborated to save costs, which should mean that, because of this strategy, they could lower the price.

The Zed4 is the 3300 pounder, not the Supra
