I'm not up to date with BMW motors, but hasn't the M57 been phased out and replaced with the aluminium N57?

As far as I can tell, the M57 has been around for 20 years, but only aluminum since 2006.

M57 is a new generation I6 diesel.

It may not be the M57, but I was told an existing iron diesel block was being harnessed. I was curious about that since they have more or less been phased out, and they replied that is was the most recent one (M57?). Maybe that motor is still made for some export market or perhaps they have stock sitting in a warehouse.

Hopefully it's CGI so it's lighter than traditional iron, unless that's what the M57 harnessed.
