As excited as I am for a more powerful Supra, I’d hate to have to wait a few years for a soft refresh in order to get one. This alternative motor should be offered from the get-go

Hey guys,
There is an article about the New b58 Engine:
https://www.autobild.de/artikel/bmw-reihensechszylinder-2018-technik-14169415.html
(In german)

Two versions, 340hp and 388hp. difference in the cylinder Head. The 340hp has an integrated manifold the 388hp a Classic manifold.
I already hear the keyboards clacking away from journalists.
Yup!

....I also heard some more interesting news from my little bird friend. News that (if true) will make me seriously consider a MKV Supra. Yes, you heard it right....will make me consider a MKV Supra. I need to be careful about divulging too much info, as I need to respect his confidentiality. I will ask him if I can talk about it on this forum this weekend.
And now ladies and Gents, we're in the twilight zone.

Performance must of heard some monumental news. Interested to see what he found out, and if it’s related to the different motors

Why even do this, Toyota?

Why say a better version is already in the works? Wouldn't that make people hold off and wait, making the initial sales slump... making Toyota think the car is not a success. This just seems so odd to me

Does it involve the missing piece in the Supra puzzle??

to be fair, we don't even have confirmation of the launch engine. it could have the higher output one (albeit detuned for europe) from launch.

This is the production engine from the Z4, and you can clearly, 100% see that it does not have an integrated exhaust manifold.

Adds credence to Jeff's comments that the leaked oem diagrams are related to preproduction cars and may not be indicative of final product.
That would also explain the other minor details like the BMW mirror caps and shifter.

Sorry folks, as much as I would love to share more information with everyone, I am also respectful towards Toyota and it's employees. Any information provided to me is only shared by me if the source provider approves of it. I too am as impatient as all of you, and I am in no way a "reference" to anything. I will say though, my source is very reputable....and he only recently found out this information.

@A70TTR, on a different note....any word or rumors on "serialized cars.":D
