Yep, all is well. Just make sure you contact your tuner after the recall is completed so they can reset your account (with BM3 anyway)Were you able to retune your Supra after updated?

Thanks for the quick replyYep, all is well. Just make sure you contact your tuner after the recall is completed so they can reset your account (with BM3 anyway)
Yes.I did all steps and now tuner has it - I guess they need to do a bench unlock and then retune for the Pure 800, etc.
Was on the "Fence" for the recall. Not for a locked ecu, not tuned anyway.
But I don't trust the dealer, took them 2 months and Toyota involved to get the navigation activated.
Had my first service done in February and they offered the update at that time, was in a hurry and waiting to get the service done, so I declined.
Last Monday when I left for work and backed out of the garage, yep, no brakes.
Had to use 2 feet to pull to a stop, scared the crap out of me.
Got it towed and the vacuum pump is fried.
Got the update now, lol and should be a week for the part to arrive...
This vacuum pump, hard part to install? Lots of disassembly?
Anything I should look for when I get the car back?
We've been talking about how dangerous/serious this is for.. a year now.Yow!! And now your cars at dealer, awaiting
Parts, with probably no eta on arrival!
I’m in the same boat as u, don’t trust dealer
Nor there techs ( but I still have brakes)
Vacuum pump gets fried?! I didn’t realize that the update PREVENTS that! I might have to reconsider this update?! Damn!
Did you start the car wrong? Doesn’t sound too bad if the brakes go out right away instead of mid driveWas on the…
Nearly possible to tell. It's a momentary switch on the dash. Insanely easy to double tap and have literally zero idea that it ever happened. Electrons like to jump between conductive surfaces in tiny differences. This whole thing can happen in milliseconds.Did you start the car wrong? Been saying it for a year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ not to mention, you can just re-bench unlock. Not only is $400 not an amount of money for anyone that purchased a 50-60k dollar car, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper than smashing into someone and wasting your time dealing with that.Should have the car back next week Tuesday, will be exactly 3 weeks sins I lost the brakes.
Toyota found the part (Vacuum pump) at another out of state dealer.
Otherwise was looking a 3 months wait.
For those on the fence of doing the recall,
The risk of being without a car, waiting for parts and no brakes, please do it soon,
daily driver or not, not a good feel, when you press the brakes and nothing happens...
I understand for those with a tune, I really do, but what good will a tune be when you can't brake
crash or worse?
