Can you test the feature from the Toyota app? Seeing how long it takes would be nice to know as well.
I wish I could, back then it was just for iOS so I didn't bother asking the dealer or anything and once they finally released it on Android I was never able to add my car to the app

Oh dang, that’s unfortunate. Thanks anyway

Interested in how this affects any of the US Based FEMTO unlocks.
Agreed, Im interested in getting this done but I have my ecu unlocked from femto in miami back in May 2026. I havent purchased my tune yet so im not worried about that, just worried that my ecu would be locked again.

depends on current software, worst case you'll need MHD unlocked or anyone with bench tool.

What's stopping someone from driving away in the car if it's manual after it's been started? Does it shut off if the door is opened?

if you remote start the car, car remains locked.

Looks like clicking the lock button 3 times is what activates the remote start, so the car is locked the entire time until you approach it / put your hand in the handle.

To add on to what everyone said above me, once you enter the car, you to put your foot on the brake and/or clutch and press the start button so the car stays on. If you try to drive off without doing this, the car shuts off.

Just had my car done and it works perfectly. Seems like all of my previous bimmercoding is still intact as well. Also I am not unlocked or tuned yet. Going to make a video on it a little later today.

Edit: Two updates. First I noticed that the auto start/stop symbol has returned on my gauge cluster (I had it coded out with bimmercode). I drove the car around a little bit and it hasn't actually activated yet. Just shows up on the gauges with a slash through it when I come to a stop. I'm wondering after I drive the car for a bit and the ECU does all of it's re learning things if that's going to start activating again.... I believe they have to update your car to the latest software in order to make the remote start work (I've never done any of the recalls).

Second I saw someone else mention the flap staying open on their car when not in sport mode, my car is doing that now too. I think though that may be part of the whole ECU reset learning thing. I seem to remember that happening to me before when I disconnected my battery.

Once I drive the car around a bit I'll give updates!

In for more info/updates.

So my understanding is you can activate the remote start from the supra app as well?

Also does this over write the auto start/stop bypass? I hate that feature and like having it off, haven’t done the software recall because I don’t want to lose it being off permanently.

You will have to press the button to turn off auto start/stop every single time you start the car - it is the same case for me.

I disconnected my battery many times in the past, and my exhaust flap functioned normally before this coding - no ecu relearning needed. I've been driving the car every day since the coding this past Sunday, and the exhaust flap stays open 24/7.

When I connect to BimmerLink, I can close and open the flap freely, but when I switch to Auto mode and exit Sport mode, it stays open. Also, when I set it to close and turn the ignition off, the exhaust flap stays open.

Yes, you can start it from the Supra app; you press the ventilation icon on the app.
