Use your Mazda 6 ? No one cares about a Mazda anyway..Is it okay to drive if the car is a little over 5k miles? I won't be able to get an oil change until this weekend but I still need to drive to work

How do you know I have a mazda 6Use your Mazda 6 ? No one cares about a Mazda anyway..![]()
Ohhhh I didn't remember adding that. Thanks
SlightlyYeah, I do. I don't want E85 sitting in the tank for 6 months. As for oil, my car really only sees heavy track use. It all depends. I would recommend changing the oil after break-in, and that goes for any engine. Not just a sports car.

Yeah I think that would be reasonable. My tuner (Botti) recommended at least every 3k .For those of us that are running e85... we know that e85 will dillute the engine oil and we will need to change the oil sooner than the regular intervals (one of the reasons why I didn't want to run e85). How frequently should you change the oil if you are running eBlend? Is 2000-2500 reasonable?
I run ethanol and I mentioned that I have tested my oil many times and how many track days earlier in this thread. For those of us that are running e85... we know that e85 will dillute the engine oil and we will need to change the oil sooner than the regular intervals (one of the reasons why I didn't want to run e85). Soooo....how often do you change your oil? I'm also gonna guess that you send yours in for lab anslysis? I should've figured you'd run eBlend.I run ethanol and I mentioned that I have tested my oil many times and how many track days earlier in this thread.
Before the Supra, I ran ethanol in all my cars for the last 15 years.
The ethanol “dilution” thing is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overblown.
My Supra I use mainly for track although I do drive to/from all tracks and also drive it on the street for pleasure drives and datalogging/tuning.Soooo....how often do you change your oil? I'm also gonna guess that you send yours in for lab anslysis? I should've figured you'd run eBlend.
The first thing I looked at was what kind of oil and the viscosity you use. Thanks for the data points. My Supra I use mainly for track although I do drive to/from all tracks and also drive it on the street for pleasure drives and datalogging/tuning.
My last test at the end of last year is after 5 track days with some of those events seeing 270F oil temps. The test in 2024 I just had done had 5 track days.
All of these are on E30-E40 and since the beginning of 2023 the car was running 470-520whp or so, depending on what map I was using.
The lead spikes are from using 100 octane in the E40 mix at some tracks. I noticed a trend that VP 100 has some lead in it, either the actual fuel or the tank had leaded gas in it at some point

I had my dealer change oil at 500 miles (old school), at first, they put up fight, but I told them at its my choice when I used my free oil change that can with the car. They changed the oil.I normally change oil on new motors at 1,500 miles but dealer refused to do it. So I told them I wanted it changed when it hits 3,000 and they said no to that as well. They claim the car will let me know when it needs to be changed. I am not real comfortable with this so what is everyone else doing. I can do it myself but exactly what oil and are y’all using Toyota filter or BMW or is there something better? Any additional additives like Molly etc. Thank y’all.
