Well the time has come to move on, unfortunately. Parked my 2021 Supra on a tree at 70mph this June. ☹ Luckily, I was not severely injured, but the car was totaled. Insurance paid it off and gave me some extra for my mods, thankfully. I had lo leave the main stuff on the car (Kenji DP, CAI and charge pipe, etc.) because of this, but I was able to snag my JB4 (with BT) and I still have my stock DP plus a XHP tuning adapter. I will be posting them at some point for sale if anyone is interested. Keep an eye out in the for sale threads. Not sure when I will get to it I am super busy right now and don't have time to deal with it, so I'm not trying to waste anyone's time until I can get to it. I was going to get another Supra, but I ended up finding a 2017 Mustang GT with a Roush stage 2 supercharger (727hp, 610tq) 6spd manual and performance package for a great deal, so I went that route. I'm gonna miss the old girl, but I'm loving this car so I am just going to chalk this up as a bad experience and move on, lol. Prishiate all the help from everyone in here and all the great info I gained from these forums. Always interested in the Supra gossip, so I'll be around. I guess I'll just be a lurker now. 😂

Gonna say it before someone else does...

You wrapped the Supra around a tree and you move to a mustang?

Glad you're okay and nice car! The performance pack GTs can get down shockingly well.
Thanks. It was just one of those things. I never drove it in auto for starters and I had TC off. I was tired and had been up all night and wasn't thinking. I had put it in auto just to chill otw home. Tried to pass some idiots going 23 in a 45 and it geared down from 5th to 2nd and did a 90 degree turn, caught traction, and slingshot me across into the right side ditch head on into a tree. If I would have left it in manual it never would have happened... ☹

Even modern motorsport traction control can be incredibly intrusive when you get out of shape let alone a traction control on a street car. It has its uses but a lesson learnt, I am sure. Glad you are ok. Its scary to crash a road car without a cage between you and concrete/trees/people etc :bump:

That is such a good colour on that mustang.

Wraps a 2.0 255hp Supra around a tree then buys a 730hp supercharged Mustang. Sound logic.

This will be my third mustang and I have never put a scratch on any of them, or any other car I have owned, and the Supra was one of the least powerful. The POS open diff on the supra is the weak link. It is squirrely as hell and I have hated it since I got it. Had I known about it I would not have bought the car to begin with. If it downshifts and breaks loose and you are not driving in a straight line it's a guessing game at that point. This was the second time it happened but I was going straight the first time. It got a little out of shape but nothing major. That is why I never drove it in auto. The rear end in the Mustang is 1000% better. I can break it loose in 3rd at 50mph and it is entirely predictable. They should have never put that diff in a sports car. Other than that I did enjoy the Supra and in the end it was just a toy anyway.

Yea cuz manual car wouldn’t wrap around a tree, according to ChatGPT summary of this thread

If anything, the open diff on the 2.0 would be more forgiving. Hopefully you don’t swap a tree with a crowd of people now.

Sorry to hear about the Supra, the 3.0 differential has been great so far but yeah rolling without TC is a coin toss.

That voodoo blue is a great color choice for the mustang. Hopefully the “Mustang Things” doesn’t reach out and park you on a tree too.

Don’t forget to take the Supra Ownership survey here:

How long did you own the Supra?

If I'm going to mow down a crowd of people I'll use my truck. It's more forgiving.

Everyone else seems pretty OK with it. Besides, you know what they say about a tradesman and his tools?

You’ve heard that a lot I assume.
Of course! I am on your radar now, aren't I? Always remember, when you assume......you make an ASS out of U and ME.

I failed many times before turning professional at golf.....but alas psoriatic arthritis stopped that career much shorter than intended. I was never good enough to play all the big events but was sharp enough to make a living for half a decade living out of a suitcase travelling from Pro am to Pro am. It was pretty awesome when young and single and I probably have kids in several countries so lucky I never met your mother.

I failed in business before going out on my own and making good crust.... I now race cars to scratch that competitive itch. It looks like you do the same as an amateur in your road car! Nothing better than sending it at a racetrack so in essence we speak the same language.

Always best to let the scoreboard do all the talking though.

Have you won anything significant? Put up a thread with all your trophy conquests because despite your loathsome troll attitude to a lot of people, I am genuinely interested as you seem to have built a very competitive car and not everything that you type in here is dribble. Despite yourself, you do have something of merit to add to this community instead of replying with sass to most " WaT OiL do RecOMMENd?" threads.

Back to topic, very lucky no one was injured. Even those that do it for a living end up in the concrete barriers from time to time. ;)

I always urge those that buy performance cars to get some professional coaching and track time to learn just how much room you need to recover mistakes and to hopefully not make them on public roads.
