So, I know between the two clutches PTB is preferred due to quality control and OEM feel. However, there is one aspect that Im not seeing a clear answer on. In my instance, I abuse my clutch. I do a handful of drift events per year and next year I plan to start autocrossing, which will require launching the car. Between CM and PTTB, which one handles heavy abuse better? Ofc I understand at the end of the day what Im doing will make it so I never see the full lifetime of the clutch. However, Id like to know which one will last longer between the two.

Both the Clutch Master's kit and PTB (with upgraded sinter disks) are rated for around 1000 ft/lbs of torque so the disc/clamping seem relatively similar and should be plenty durable unless you're running some insane power figures.

Unfortunately as these products are fairly new and the number of people using them is still low so there isn't a lot of data out there either.

That being said, there were multiple cases with Clutchmaster's slave cylinder solution failing even under normal driving conditions and PTB clutches having clearance issues with their release bearing. It sounds like PTB is a more reliable solution overall but again the testimonials we have to work with are limited.

I'm curious too, I wish there was more data out there and that the shops that service and support the manual cars would do more to showcase, promote, and test the clutch products.

There's general guidelines out there for clutches heres one from summit racing, they have a good video on YouTube about it too.

I don’t do track my car, but weekend drive. I had the clutch masters with hydraulic bearing for 1200 miles. Didn’t like it due to the amount of force it took to push the paddle in, drive in city mostly. Went with the PTB with dual sinster and it drives nearly factory. My wife couldn’t drive it with the clutch masters. Now that the PTB is in there, I think she drives a car more than me šŸ˜žDon’t waste your money on the clutch masters go straight with the PTB.
I do like clutch masters for my previous vehicles they’ve worked well in my older 500-600hp horsepower Hondas

I am at 700whp and 680tq on pure 800 with the PTB organic plates. Feels stock without any issues and makes me wish I would have gotten at least 1 sinister plate.

I have both sinister plates, only at 600whp and 634tq and feels better than stock. Absolutely love this clutch. I even taught my 15 1/2 year old daughter to drive stick with it. 🤪

In what ways is it better than stock?

The sinter plates are only really necessary if you're pushing a lot of torque right?

Otherwise the organic plates will do just fine for street queens?

I personally just like the engagement point with PTB. The stock was way higher but wasn’t bad with a pedal stop. Just my preference.
Another mt Supra around here has PTB with both regular disc and it feels same as mine just for those curious.

They have a guideline on the tq recs. Organic supposedly good for 700 and twin sinisters good for 1000.
