This thread is barely informational anymore
Did you know the dot above letters like the i and j are called tittles, which also means a tiny amount or part of something?

Honestly even if this does come out at some point and is real (what a damn fairytale at this point) the ship has sailed for them to make tremendous profits as most people said screw it and went the femto route

Don't fool yourself, there were never tremendous profits to be made.

Even if 1,500 people do it (10% of all USA Supra Sales.. which is unlikely), and they charge $500, that's $750,000 after time and money spent on R&D, labor and shipping, and business income tax, you're looking at what? Half a 350k one-time windfall? That's not exactly an amount of money for a business to write home about.

Shit, even double all those numbers. 3,000 units at $1,000 (which approaches the Femto unlock price), that's 3 million one-time, pre-tax, sub R&D, labor, shipping, etc.

Maybe you can earn some brand recognition, but you're not exactly living like a king with a one-time business income of 3mm.

Honestly, if you're just doing an unlock and going direct to Femto instead of paying a middleman, Femto's price is not all that crazy. That or I'm desensitized.

Thankfully they are unlocking all number of ecu types beyond Supra models. Even then, it’s metric ton of effort for fleeting profits that can evaporate if their secret gets out.

This is life of a security researcher. I hope they made money on the deals with MHD, BM3 etc for custom code implementation in the Femto unlock process.

Still- the entire market of MG1 ECU's isn't that big. The market isn't there for 'some insane landfall of money' like some people are saying. Sure you can make a great living, but there's no get-rich-quick by unlocking ECUs.
