I am looking at running a hybrid turbo but on pump fuel. . This is a little guess work but running approx 20 psi, at what rpm would the Pure 850 hit full boost with a decat exhaust? I am ok to introduce a bit of lag but the last hybrid I had on a previous car ( from TTE) was exceptionally laggy and felt like a group B car to make any meaningful power. Fun, but slow at hillclimbs.

I am currently finding on track that the early spool of this 23 manual tuned supra is too harsh so a little more lag, less boost ( running 23psi now) would help immensely with heat and with a hp gain without that initial "I want to kill you tail holiday"

HP goal is approx 320-350 wheel kws ( currently at 295 wheel kws) but not all top end.
With a free-flowing catless exhaust at sea level...

Pure800 spools 31-3300 rpm on a dyno and 29-3100 on the street
Pure850 and 900 spool 35-3600 on dyno and 33-3400 on street

Pure 800 on pump gas (93)

Pure 900 (different person, day, car, setup. pump 91 in green and e50 in red)

You can see the 900 spools a bit slower, especially on pump gas. These graphs arent to compare power between the two turbos, only spool.

they stopped the pure 850 so you would have to find one used. I have the pure 800 and it feels the same as stock. Interestingly it is quieter than the stock turbo which is unfortunate.

If you plan on running only 20psi I would look to the pure 650. Spool wise, a lot of it can be in the tune. A good tuner can make even the OEM turbo laggy if wanted.

Also, protip… don’t listen to anything Mr. Crustacean the Mansplainer says. He just posts weird made up shit that he doesn’t even know.
