Good point for peeps to be on a street tire in the beginning, hear the squeal on track. But for you, why not just drive on track tires all the time? I believe Wes does the same thing. Only reason why I’m one OEM tires off season is because they came with the stock wheels. So being cheap, I want to burn those up 1st. Then I’ll get some sweet 200 tread wear track tires to slap on them ?
I drive around town on them, occasionally. I've learned that they heat cycle out before the tread wears, So I don't mind. My local track is about an hour and a half away. I leave them on for those trips also. In general, they stay on since I also trailer to farther events.
But occasionally, I like to take my car out of town on road trips. For that, I don't want him induce additional wear nor, More importantly, pick up something that's going to cause a flat.
Brought side: Thank God I don't have an all-wheel drive car anymore. Getting a puncture and having to replace all four tires = sucked ?

What do you think about flushing both systems with distilled water and water wetter? Would getting the antifreeze out help in this car? It did on my GR86 and GRC, dropping temps by 15F or so on 90F ambient.
You can like in any car, but I’m pretty sure you’ll want to keep at least a decent amount of the OE coolant in there to prevent corrosion, especially on these German engines.

Thanks. That’s what I thought. do you get any code errors and/or can that be coded out?
We coded mine out and it works, however it brought up a headlight actuator error that sits in the Messages display, not the dash. Unsure why. I also can’t tell you how because I have no idea what they did or if they’ll tell me. ?

I’m really surprised no one has mentioned Nitron R1/R3’s for coilovers? I don’t have experience with MCS, but my shop guy that competes in his Supra switch off MCS for Nitrons and swears by them. And I must say they feel insanely good, but I don’t have any other experience with other good brands. I have the R1’s.
That said, Nitron has been growing faster than they can keep up it seems, so me and a buddy were both sent some slightly incorrect pieces, and apparently they put the wrong internals on my rear dampeners, which proceeded to both blow out at the track a few weeks ago. So, seem to be some QA issues currently. However the guy that rebuilds them is here in North Texas, so not too much of a hassle to get corrected, which was another large reason I went with them.

Inertia Labs in Lewisville, Tx is the man for the rebuilds, in case anyone is curious.

too much. just offering if you were going to throw the junk away or something ;)

You need a race shop help with matching spring rates and settings. a set up like that should be super undramatic.
They're not junk, they just need some customization. The spring rates are fine, the dampers are the issue.

I don't know what you mean by "race shop" but the only faster street-tire A90 time attack driver/shop has helped me spec them and supports the build. And the actual shop that ordered them are one of the two largest JRZ shops in the country.

I'll go ahead and assume that your comments (and the other guy) are based on 0 experience using these dampers on this vehicle. Correct?

think you missed the winky face
I know they are not junk. They should not cause drama on curbs. I am very happy for you that your race shop is on the case.

My point was just that they're not that great out of the box and dealing with JRZ has been a pain. I can't find anybody that likes them more than me either.

Nitrons have lukewarm feedback and only come in 1- and 3-way.

MCS seem to be universally liked.

Rich at DAS has a new AST spec that looks interesting, but there is limited feedback from other drivers currently.

Just sick of hearing suggestions and feedback repeated in this thread from people that haven't used the products they're suggesting.

Kyle, I know who you are (Gridlife) and I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to personally share your experiences with the JRZs on this forum. This sort of information is invaluable.

He also likes trees. Especially the ones around Lime Rock.

Sure, $8k and they’re yours.

Would be more than happy to order a new set of something else
Don’t know how much you paid new but $8k that’s over retail unless you’re on Motorsport dampers.

Hope I’m not the other guy? Because I’ve owned every variant of JRZ has to offer including their Motorsport 1232 dampers.

JRZ price sheet attached for those wondering what retail is.

for anybody actually looking for useful information from this thread, the price sheet above doesn’t include quick disconnects, piston upgrades, shafts upgrades, low friction coating, and other available options

it’s not hard to spec a $10k set of JRZ RS pros, although $7-8k is more typical
