This is why I really like one of North Texas' local tracks, Motorsport Ranch, Cresson. It's not the most exciting track, but it's got a little bit of everything and is very, very low risk in terms of damage occuring if you go off track. Really allows you to get comfortable with a car. If you skip to 8:25 you'll see a nice fun off I had last time attack event when my GY SC3's had a little too much heat in them ?

Looks like you were too caught up with the lap timer on the straight and the corner came at you a bit too fast.

Btw maybe its just the video but your car looks super unstable the whole time. Is that the camera, your driving style, bumpy track or your springrate/dampers?

Anyone know where I can source a replacement shock for Ohlins? 3DM seems to be the best spot but looks like he is going to be hard to get ahold of for who knows how long. Ohlins USA wont get back to me either... This is holding up my car going back together now as the body shop says they do suspension stuff before body work.
I saw that for 3DM as well. Was looking for a rebuild kit and the race shop told me to hold off until the end of the season. Making me think I should just buy the kit now and hold onto it…

If you had any trouble finding the Ohlins search page:

https://www.ohlinsusa.com/dealers&type=auto&service=true

And the ones for our coilovers:

to me it look like he could feel the tires getting greasy towards the end of the previous lap, so he decided to just embrace the suck and try and make them howl.

I just got some Turner MS spacers, with lifetime guarantee. Super fast shipping, accurate website, massive amount of parts. But… there’s quite a difference in part selection if you pick the BMW Z4 (3.0) vs our car. I thought we are a BMW Z4 with a Toyota badge, no?

Yet for the Z4 with our B58 engine:

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW-G29/c-2-bmw-brakes

Not knowing my BMW specs, I’m hoping these will fit ours. I didn’t even know Hawks made DTC 80s. Hell, I’d be happy with DTC 70s and Turners lifetime guarantee! So I sent an email to Turner. Fingers crossed ?

Your link to whatever pads you are talking about doesn’t work. Either way, I see the same pads available under Supra and z4, because they use the same pads.

For those that went with the coilover rear (eg MCS), is there any clearance issue with 18x11s in back?
I’m hesitant to go the coilover rear for that reason.

You links work now, those are for ST-40 calipers. Stoptech. Not OEM.

18x11 work depending on offset and tire size.
Likely 295/30 on some ots Apex wheels which appear to be +40. I’ve been running that size on my other car for a while. But there’s always that creep of wanting to try more over time :)

I am interested in this as well as I thought fitment was only an issue on the front. Will probably go 275-310 on 18x11 apex wheels with a true coilover MCS 2 way.

You guys will have plenty of room between the tire and coilover. Its the fender liners that you have to worry about with a 315 or bigger tire. I am effectively at a 37 offset on 315s and still rub the inside liners. I think a 35 offset would be perfect for me but my car isnt that low and I run a decent amount of camber out back.

Thanks that’s paints a “good” picture. I’ll try to be happy with short 295s for a while.

You're missing a spring, which is what he was asking about.

Is the spring anything to worry about? Was pretty sure it was out of the way and that it would hit the liners well before the spring.

I forget but is your spring mounted on the top or bottom of the coilover? Thought it was at the bottom.
