I believe you are correct as well. I don’t let my tires get too low (< 25psi) and I’m one and done w/ TPMS still installed. For my 2020 that was true but like I said, my TPMS are out now so one less thing I need to deal with while I get to grid.
That sucks dude! As I’ve said before, you’ll be missed. Great input on here for me & others no doubt.Hm. Guess I did it wrong. Two separate occasions, pulled into the hot pit. Reset everything, nannies kicked in during my session.
Cars on its way out, anyway so eh well.
I’m on my 2nd axel only because there isn’t a boot kit just yet. Local Porsche race shop says they replace their drivers axel’s with high temp grease and are going to do the same with mine. You think that’ll help?Risking flaming because there are gobs of posts on "upgraded axles" here, but none I could find on what I care about - running an upgraded axle on a track car. Here's the deal:
One of my car bucket list events is to do a drag and drive event. The car guy in me wants to pick up an ugly but sturdy foxbody, but bringing another car home isn't a possibility. Therefore, I'm looking at doing this in the Supra. I'm not going to "build" the car for drag racing, maybe just some drag radials and keep the car mostly stock as it is now.
So...stocksih power, drag radials, and maybe some DSS or Titan axles to make the car bulletproof. Which brings up the question, any issues with doing regular track days with these axles? My kneejerk reaction is "Send it, it will be fine!", but I'm sure someone here is doing this now.
that's personal preference of driving style. in general, square set up = oversteer & stagger set up = understeer.Staggered vs Square pros and cons??? Or you can't go wrong with either set up???
Square - pros -tires are more abundant and thus cheaper, can rotateStaggered vs Square pros and cons??? Or you can't go wrong with either set up???
18x10.5 w/ 275/35/18 square here. Much more balanced and better turn-in. I'm stock power, so I'm not fighting with the 500hp of some of the folks here.Staggered vs Square pros and cons??? Or you can't go wrong with either set up???
This is total preference and use here. Most all have stated the obvious. Much more goes into it after you factor what you prefer.Staggered vs Square pros and cons??? Or you can't go wrong with either set up???
295 will feel like trash on 19x10. Especially the A052.Question for track rats:
For next season i'll be keeping my stock 2023 wheels, but changing tires. I'm wondering which one of the following setups would be the best option for a car making 520whp and 600wtq:
275/35/19 A052 - 25.9lbs per tire --- 255/35/19 A052 - 24.8lbs per tire
295/35/19 A052 - 29.6lbs per tire --- 275/35/19 A052 - 25.9lbs per tire
295/35/19 RT660 - 32.6lbs per tire -- 275/35/19 RT660 - 30.0lbs per tire
Stockers for reference:
275/35/19 PSS - 26.2lbs per tire --- 255/35/19 - 23.6lbs per tire
I'm not finding many good options in 285 with 200tw that heat up quickly for street/track use. I like the RT660, but theyre heavy295 will feel like trash on 19x10. Especially the A052.
RT660 are stiffer so will feel better 275 vs 275 but I would highly recommend not using any 295 on stock wheels on track.
RE71RS? They come up to temp pretty quickly.I'm not finding many good options in 285 with 200tw that heat up quickly for street/track use. I like the RT660, but theyre heavy
What are you trying to do? Any 200 TW tire heats up fast on the track...heating up tires generally should not be needed on the street. Are you talking about a 200TW tire that gives you good grip and durability for canyons? PS4S or Cup2 Connect if you are willing to spend a bit more are a great tire for that from my experience. (non 200TW tires of course)I'm not finding many good options in 285 with 200tw that heat up quickly for street/track use. I like the RT660, but theyre heavy
Side track as usual, what is the max width you think, without feeling like trash for 18x11 on RT660 or CR-S? (probably depends on sidewall)295 will feel like trash on 19x10. Especially the A052.
RT660 are stiffer so will feel better 275 vs 275 but I would highly recommend not using any 295 on stock wheels on track.
