Dude!!!!!!!! That article and blog is fcuking amazing ? I could read that thing for hours on end. What a great honest take and explained incredibly well. Is that your site? Makes me think entirely different about aero. It was always a 2nd thought. Now I’m thinking, oh ????? I want more aero ?https://occamsracers.com/2023/09/04/your-splitter-sucks/
Due to the verus setup being designed for ease of install and consumer acceptance, you have a few constraints working against you.
1) Lack of AOA adjustments
2) Lack of height adjustments
3) side mounts blocking optimal diffuser tunnel location
4) v2’s diffuser tunnels diffusing into the tire face, vs control arms
5) lack of rigid mounting to support side of splitter (the rivnuts to bumper skin)
6) inconsistent AOA under load
7)materials hard to work with, needs cutting/slicing tools, vs abrasive based workflows
another vendor should have a better solution by q1.
on the plus side, i think the splitter is made from off brand tegris, doesn’t need skid pucks unless you’re bottoming them out like I am.
NL9 does not make supra splitter I think. I'll wait for 777 one, but I'd like to see some data. It also seem to sit lower thqn Verus = even less dailyable ?It’s Mario’s blog, I recommend you buy his wind tunnel report.
his brother Ian also has one

If I had unlimited budget:
https://supra.jwapplied.tech/
Zebulon
AJ Hartman
OEM GT4
Spage
Reasonable budget and performance:
TripleSeven
Faircloth Composite
NineLivesRacing
If I had no other options:
Verus
APR
BattleAero
I'm trying to get my Verus splitter to be lower so it actually does something. ?NL9 does not make supra splitter I think. I'll wait for 777 one, but I'd like to see some data. It also seem to sit lower thqn Verus = even less dailyable ?

Well, wonder what tuneling 777 will have too and if it will be angled up on the wheel end.I'm trying to get my Verus splitter to be lower so it actually does something. ?
I don't trailer and I'm still limited on if I can get in/out of my driveway so it won't be Time Attack low for sure.Well, wonder what tuneling 777 will have too and if it will be angled up on the wheel end.
Anyway, i use car daily so speed bumps, angles are a thing for me ?
If you aren't spending money on coilovers, then your plan seems solid. HKS springs and rear wang.Folks. I'm at a crossroads.
Context:
I only do HPDEs. I've been asked to start getting more serious with my driving (One Lap of America and Gridlife shenanigans). So I'm starting to look at my current "build" and finding where the most gain per dollar is.
Right now heres where I'm at:
SPL FLCAs
CSG pads.
TItan 7 wheels/ appropriate sized tires
15mm spacers up front.
Verus front splitter
Big ol' single exit exhaust causing parachuting.
So the car currently has 4 exposed holes (currently covered by my wrap) from a Mk4 wing. I had intentions of buying a verus UCW as the stands cover my existing holes and remove this wrap. I miss having a yellow car.
I also have a set of Verus camber plates sitting idly to the side. Do I install them with HKS springs to gain some front wheel clearance (remove spacers) but also know they're too soft for track use with aero?
Basically - validate my thought process or (Bryan)call me stupid and put me on a better path (not spending $5k on coilovers right now)

Danny Kao did One Lap last year and was competitive with a basic setup and stock power (although he did have MCS coilovers)

I've also seen "BossBossRacing" on instagram pushing S3 coilovers, which seem very attractive for their price (Similar to Fortune Autos).
Have you any thoughts on the brand?
Actually, Danny did OLOA in the Supra in '22 (my first OLOA), and he and Brian Heikotter did indeed do very well against the other Supras (Toyota PE, Dave Marcus, etc.) considering the considerable power disadvantage. Danny is local to me, and has moved on to Porsche stuff. If you aren't spending money on coilovers, then your plan seems solid. HKS springs and rear wang.

This year Dave was 2nd overall, but I have no clue about his setup.
