Not sure if anyone has seen this or not, but Pitt Race is unexpectedly closing it's doors at the end of this season. I guess the owners sold it to a data center developer. Unreal!

Pretty gutted for the Steel Cities Region and everyone who enjoyed the track. I was glad to go there one last time a few weeks ago.

I'm going again on the 15th with TNIA. Last opportunity I guess, can't miss it. So disappointing.

If it wasn't a 9 hour tow I'd go again also. I really wanted to crack the 1:54's.
Can't imagine ever having to do that. We have 2 tracks here, and each one has several layouts.....and those layouts turn the tracks into very different experiences. Dubai Autodrome is a 15 minute drive from me. Yas Marina is like a little over an hour away. Very convenient.

I have a lot of tracks close by (in US terms). Within 4 hours is CMP, AMP, Road Atlanta, VIR, Roebling, and CMS. Going to 5 hours includes Barber and the FIRM. But the reality is most in the US have to drive/tow reasonably long distances to get to a track. Very few tracks (outside of VIR) close by have more than one layout that doesn't just cut the track in half.

It's one of the reasons I have a truck/trailer. While getting shit for mpg towing it has much more room for the beer cooler.

I recently drove 4000kms/45 hours from Perth to Sydney to do WTAC.
There is a whole lot of nothing (apart from thousands of dead kangaroos) in the middle of Australia 🤣
Next year I'm getting the car ready earlier and getting it trucked across and flying.

After many years racing bmw’s, we finally started our supra build. I read all 288 pages of this thread and all other race builds here, learning from all the experience and suggestions. Also connected with Ben at Limit+1 and he was a great source of guidance as well, so we jumped right in, starting with handling:

MCS 2WR
Verkline entire catalog
Whiteline sways (also ordered Eibach but Whiteline allowed for better clearance on the rear coilovers)
Apex VS-5RS 18x11 square
295 Hoosiers but will likely play around with CRS and RE71RS as well

Initial install went fine today with the rear setup, but we’re struggling to find a good way to get the rear reservoirs into the trunk. I read a post on getting them in through the trunk vents so we pulled the bumper to work on it. Looks like fuse box is in the way? Any hints on how to navigate it through? What about front reservoir mounting ideas? Is strut brace an option?

After suspension, we know we need to address cooling, take care of safety stuff and then aero. Last car (e30m3 s54 Frankenstein) was a high teens car at Sebring, hoping to get this around there too.

Thanks for all the fun reading and guidance, looking forward to all the learnings on this build…

There's a few options for front and back. Trunk vents is prettier but is a lot easier if you had quick disconnects on the rear canisters but you don't. No rear quick disconnects makes it a little more annoying because you have to drill out even bigger holes and as you found that's gonna be an issue. Look in the battery compartment and you'll see two black grommets, one on each side. From the outside, drill it out big enough to pass the canisters through and then mount anywhere in the trunk you want (not battery compartment, gets too hot in there). You can fill the new hole you made with new larger rubber grommets you can cut an X in so that the edges aren't sharp and the X allows the canister to pass through.

For the fronts, pull off or pull back the fender liner on the side towards the cabin. There's a rubber grommet on each side that you can punch out and pass the hose through. Then you can mount them anywhere you can reach in the engine bay. The angle to pass the hose through is kind of difficult so it does make it a little easier to also use a step-bit to drill it out a tiny bit larger.

Thank you, that’s what we ended up doing, went in through the battery compartment. Much easier.

Rear end Is done. Will tackle front next weekend hopefully.

Has anyone been successful in using Verus brake ducts with 11” wide fronts? We got steering rack limiters but not sure there is room in there.

Not a Corvette.

You probably already do this but as a reminder, paint mark every single bolt/thread. Makes it so much easier to do a once over the car before/after events.

Especially make sure you mark the bottom bolt/thread of the Verkline LCA. The side connected to the hub.

I run the Verus ducts with 18x11 fronts with 295/35 A052s.
You definitely want rack limiters but I found the Verus supplied ones bound up inside the rack.
My mechanics 3d printed some which included o-rings. We tried to pass the design onto Verus but they weren't interested.

Rack limiters don't sit well with me. The risk factor of something potentially obstructing your steering due to failure....

Exactly, felt sticky unwinding the wheel.

These are the ones my shop 3d printed. Has been fine ever since.
What's the install process on those? Spin off the inner tie rod and slide in?
