No comparison data as I never had it in there with the stock airbox. I have found no IAT issues with the MAD intake and my custom heat shield so far.
That's good to know, thanks.

What material did you use for the heat shield? There's so many knock off looking ones online. I was thinking of getting the Verus shield and then applying this material to the inside of it. I'm sure the Verus shield is great but I'm assuming once it gets hot it just radiates the heat.

Some cheap stuff off Amazon. Minus inconel, it's all basically the same.

Installed Dorch HPFP. Preliminary testing above.
Am I correct that the access to 2 ignition coils is blocked by the low pressure line?
Do you have to remove the LP line completly to change the spark plugs or can you loosen and twist it?
I'm installing mine on the weekend but if that's the case, then it would make sense to change the spark plugs before installing.
How long did it take to install the pump ?

All you need to do is disconnect the connector at the pump, and you'll have room to twist the coilpack (rearmost) out of it's hole. Just don't forget to reconnect the connector.

yes, I believe so, it's just an AN fitting so would be easy, and it's the low pressure side, and yes, I put some fresh plugs in before the install. So far I put new plugs in about every six months or so, so I'm not too worried about it.

Pump install was very easy overall if you are mechanically inclined. Making sure the plate is aligned took the longest, and what I mean by that, is that it took about 5 minutes to make sure everything was aligned.

So far so good on the Dorch HPFP. Had two back to back track days this week and zero HPFP issues with added boost on E40-E43.

The OEM HPFP would have maxed the HPFP angle and dropped rail pressure with this type of boost below 6,000 rpm.

If anyone is curious, I pretty much maxed out my stock injectors with:

Pure700
Dorch HPFP
E40-E43

Out of injector window at around 27-28psi 6500rpm+

@razorlab I’ve been designing an intake for my stock powered supra and considering IAT for use at the track. So far I’ve found the speed engineering snorkel, and have been planning to add a fabricated heat shield as well using my stock airbox and an aftermarket turbo inlet pipe, possibly heat tape or gold reflective material for the intake plumbing. I just found your thread and your setup is very similar to what I’d dreamed up. Do you have any more info on heat soak or IAT with this setup?
