What I tried:

1. lift car, put in service brake service mode, then used a tool to push back the piston.
It went a good way but only to where the piston was when I took it off, I then started to hear the motor turn as I tried to push the piston back more so I stopped so i wouldnt damage any components

Nothing was working no matter how many times i put it in and out of service mode so I was told to

2. lift car up. no service mode. parking brake off and then remove the motor from the piston then turn the piston clockwise to then push the piston in without turning it.
I did this mutliple times and tried pushing the piston and it wont move with ease at I saw.
I tried to move the bolt the other way and the piston was starting to call out....

can someone help me? It shouldnt be this hard. What am I doing wrong?

Have you thought about putting the car on the ground and just jacking it under the rear suspension with the park brake off and doing it that way one wheel at a time and forgetting the brake service mode? Just a thought?

I normally just spin the piston clockwise a few rotations, then press it in. Spin it a few more times, press it in. Never had any issues doing it that way. Parking brake off and not in service mode.

I know that on some cars, you can insert an allen key into the splined shaft where the EPB motor connects and manually retract the piston. I'm not sure if that works on our Supras, but it might be worth a try.

I tried this, counter clockwise it almost had my piston fall out. Clockwise I was able to reconnect it and its snug but it doesnt come to a hard stop like online forms say nor can the piston go back anymore

Hmm, sounds strange. Have you tried with the bleeder screw open?

no but I opened the brake reservoir cap to see if it would help and nothing. Fluids also at max and not past it so I don’t think it’s that. But could try. Just don’t wanna put more time into brake bleeding lol

Not a Corvette.
Go nuclear and take the motor off the back of the caliper. Couple bolts and then you can tell it who’s boss.

what tool are you using to retract it? I’ve noticed with the proper tool you can turn it a couple turns, then it will feel slightly stuck, then hit the tool with your purse and it will turn through that “stuckness”.

I literally just did this last Thursday on my M240i (same calipers as Supra) so it’s fresh in my head.

I did remove the motor from it and still, nothing.

I’m using this https://www.amazon.com/Orion-Motor-...2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1

+1 from the resident brute force mechanic. This happens quite often, but just spin it around like you're Meatspin and it'll turn.
