I wonder how easy it will be to tune a hybrid Supra? I'd guess that only the smaller engine could be tuned, resulting in a lower ceiling of power.

I would've thought Road&Track was better than falling for "new reports" from Best Car magazine.. which has redefined the word report to hopes and dreams mixed with a sprinkle of bullshit.

It should be easier than they’re making it. Just call the GR86 “Cellica”

As for the Supra, throw a small battery in there that can regenerate while driving and give it even more off the line grunt. Add 4 wheel drive perhaps for those coveted 0-60 times everyone highlights as their benchmark for performance 🙄. And lastly, keep the weight down people! That’s what really keep em relevant and truly Road & Track(able), imo

Not a Corvette.

Other than the weight, you just described a M340i/M440i xdrive.

They are now mild hybrid, both engine and transmission, doing exactly what you described.

M240i still has the non mild-hybrid engine/trans, like the Supra.

I really do like that car… Just need to trim the fat and she’d be a deLight (on track) 😉
