Speed limit signs are definitely recognized and shown in the car.

I dont think supras use GPS. When my nav wasn't installed properly the speed was getting updated without issue. It uses a combo of visual recognition and GPS. Obviously at night it won't pick up visual data as easily as it does during the day.
It probably defaulted to just camera data.I dont think supras use GPS. When my nav wasn't installed properly the speed was getting updated without issue.

Unless you are talking about your actual MPH, if then, that is from the actual mechanicals of the car, which is why it's thrown off when you change tire diameters.
I tired looking for a white paper around how it works exactly but haven't found one yet.I was talking about how the car recognizes speed signs.
Doesn't look like it use GPS. Mainly camera and info already loaded on the nav.I tired looking for a white paper around how it works exactly but haven't found one yet.
The "and onboard data" part is a little fuzzy. Anyway, I rarely go the speed limit so whatever.Doesn't look like it use GPS. Mainly camera and info already loaded on the nav.
Neither do I. I make sure I stay well under. The "and onboard data" part is a little fuzzy. Anyway, I rarely go the speed limit so whatever.
Yes very weird. Mine was turned on upon my first drive. However, my Nav still doesn't work yet - it says "missing USB drive with activation key", so even without Nav, the speed limit recognition works. I can see it in my HUD on my windshield. I'll play with my iDrive settings later today to see what I find for you.Yes sir, I have been waiting weeks for my dealer to get back to me on this. They have had to contact a Toyota rep of some sort. I just cannot believe that this would be a difficult issue to resolve considering this is a standard feature so I know I should be able to have this feature.
Yeah my Toyota nav is turned on. Which is updated via GPS? I obviously don’t have a clue but that‘s how I thought the nav worked. I do have to switch to my Apple Carplay map every time. It’s not set by default. Appreciate the info! If anyone can figure it out @razorlab canDoesn't look like it use GPS. Mainly camera and info already loaded on the nav.
Might not be selected in the iDrive.Does anyone have a solution for this? I recently bought a 23 a90mt and I don't have the road sign option either. Is this standard on all models or is this part of the drivers assistance package?
