Bryan, part of the reason why I ordered through Tire Rack is for their heat cycling service.

How necessary is heat cycling on these tires?

I'd probably lean more towards the Contis because I'm willing to give up lap times for a little more durability. I want to eventually go to the Nankangs once I have my suspension more dialed in and I'm more comfortable with the car on track.
Heat cycling is up to you. I personally don't bother.

Contis will for sure last longer. Also much better in the rain.

Unless you are heading to a real race or TT and are performing at a high level heat cycle is waste of money

take your first session easy-ish but heat the tires up. Take an early lunch or skip a session. 1 hr. Presto- heat cycled.

then you are good for how ever many next track days you have until you chord them or heat cycle out

I agree with the simpler stuff mentioned:
Camber plates so your tires wear evenly. Better performance is a bonus.
Ohlins is a great street coilover that performs REALLY well on track.
You figured out the wheel and tire combo you want.
Brake pads...well... They dust. So, hopefully you're not worried about how pretty the wheels look. I use Hawk pads now, due to lack of options. Crazy dust. All my favorites do, though.
An intake with upgraded intercooler is a great idea of you're not in CA.
Those items will have you going really fast.

Thanks for the information!

I outlined the parts I ordered and am installing on the car earlier in this thread.

More or less I'm following Jackie Ding's suggested Phase 1 and 2 packages with my preferred parts based on suggestions I've gotten from some of the members here. The goal is to move to a square 200tw tire setup for HPDEs and club racing while preparing the car for coilovers down the road.

Good deal.

Yeah, rain performance isn't something I used to think about in Colorado, but it's definitely a consideration in New England.

Well, interested news. They're predicting rain and light snow, high of 40 for the car control clinic on Saturday. Looks like the DWS-06+ are actually a good tire choice. 😂

Gotcha. I'm not familiar with the phases but I trust Jackie

Yea they canceled the track day on the big track because of it. Should be perfect for the car control clinic though, enjoy it!

Yeah they added an additional 3-hour afternoon session that I'm going to take advantage of. It's going to be chilly standing outside all day, but it should be a lot of fun.
