I've honestly been driving around on this set of Kuhmo V730s all summer. They're so inexpensive I figured why not. Yeah, it's wearing them out a little faster, but they're still great on track. I've driven them on damp, wet, soaked, and flooded roads... and in a down pour on track.

The only time I've been sketched out was commuting in an absolute torrential downpour with a couple inches of standing water on the highway. With all of the nannies on the car moves around enough to raise eyebrows at 80 mph or so, but it wasn't that bad.

Just some food for thought. I'm honestly debating going with another set or going to CR-S once these tires are done. Still have a good amount of life left after 4 track days and 3k miles or so.
80mph in inches of FL rain!?!?
On summer tires

Connecticut rain, but yeah lol.

My Ancestry DNA tells me I'm more likely to take risks than 90% of the population. Probably all of that Viking blood.

Certainly explains my time in the Airborne.

It’s not as bad as it sounds but yeah… you can’t drive like you would normally. I followed a large semi on alligator alley (I-75) and stayed on his line from Ft. Myers to Homestead (Miami) one track weekend last year. Can’t move the wheel when you feel the car lift, scanning ahead for different pavement types, always looking for dry spots, more distance between cars, definitely not a relaxing drive ?. That really made me consider bringing another set of tires again, like I use to in the old days.

But in town, hakuna matata. You can go slow and feel when she gains grip again much quicker than you do on the highway.

Y’all making me want to sign up for a summer track day just to play in the rain! ?

(changed my pic to my old RX8 and when the race kids/buddies were mean to me. They would hunt me down and force me to go out every time it would downpour. I think they enjoyed it more than I did. ? In the beginning at least…)

The AD09 look great as well. Also considering Falken RT660 which performed very well. Nice to see there are good performing 200TW tires that are considered street/track.

I'm really curious to see someone running the AD09 on track in the Supra. They seem to be a reduced grip/longer life 200tw.

What are some good options for a trackable daily? I went with PS4S's on my last car, but got rid of the car before I could ever get them on track.

PS4S are a great tire on and off track. In my experience If you can't dial in camber you need to run a lot of pressure to prevent them from chunking the shoulder. This happened on my wife's 135is. They tend to get greasy pretty quickly but they wear nicely.

RE71RS worked very well for me as a dual purpose tire and they're manageable in the wet.

Continental ExtremeContact Force are my current go-to for a true dual. Pace-wise they are not much quicker than the 4S but they will run a full session consistently, work in the wet and given they're an endurance tire they wear like iron. They also work really well in cold temps. I got 50+ heat cycles out a set on my C7Z and they still had some tread remaining.

There are a lot of great choices but I have first hand experience with these. All I've driven 180 miles to VIR, run all weekend and back home, thousands of street miles and enough track time to kill them.

Great info I am considering Falken RT660. They are also enduro tire, test well on Tire Racks track test and they are not asymmetric so look like they can be rotated to the back to place the outside shoulder inside

In no world is the RT660 an enduro tire. They are like most of the other Super 200's. Heat turns them to mush. Perhaps you are thinking of the Falken RT615?

This chart might help you out:

I am plenty happy with my 660s but once they wear out, I am making the switch to the CR-S. So far they do plenty fine during 20 min sessions without over heating. However, for auto-x, they do overheat and get mushy. They scare me to ever drive in wet conditions but that could be partially due to being 315....
