I do not own an iPhone and will never own an iPhone. I consider the lack of Android Auto to be the #1 practical failure of this platform. Please do not recommend an iPhone.
I currently have a Roadtop MMI unit. If you have one of these, you know it works reasonably well but does not offer touchscreen support and has intermittent handshake issues with phones. Please don't recommend another one of these.
I'm also aware of the AAidrive project. Not quite what I'm looking for, but fantastic effort all the same.
So that takes me to my question: I know many of you are running one of the many 7" Android Auto standalone units in the market. In the past, I see some of you mounted it down low in the phone charger area. Some have it up on the dash.
Looking to see your setups so I can make the best choice on the unit to buy and the extras I'll need to hardwire. Thanks in advance!
