I assume they looked at the % of owners who sent it out themselves vs. people who used a 3rd party assuming looking at forums. If the majority used a 3rd party then charging a couple hundred more to not ship international is why they set there price at 1800?Wouldn't be surprised if they were working with Femto behind the scenes.
If my ecu magically locked itself, I would still go Femto. It took 5 days...Just send your DMEs to Femto directly. It's cheaper and they've done thousands, if not tens of thousands of unlocks.. not tens.
I wouldn't be surprised if they're working with security to stop whoever props up Femto from burning their house down.Wouldn't be surprised if they were working with Femto behind the scenes.
Wanted to reply to my earlier comment...... turns out I was misled on the phone.I can confirm KIES motorsports has indeed figured it out! No more FEMTO required!
Spoke to Dane at Kies and he let me know that they successfully flashed 8 DMEs with no problem. He did mention to me that there may sometimes be a hiccup in bootmod3 when flashing it saying it doesn't detect an unlock but from what he said is you are good to proceed with the flash and it works!
Since FEMTO is technically also a partial unlock (FEMTO uses their own custom ROM software to flash) this isn't.... meaning once you do this unlock you will NOT need to resend it if you would like to switch from bootmod3 to MHD.
Super exciting to hear honestly and he did confirm that they DO NOT open the DME as autotuner does. IT IS COMPLETELY SOFTWARE.
