The bish slams on the brakes while backing up from a parking spot that's a little bit on an incline. No one there other than pavement. I guess it saw a the ground and got scared.
I’ve experienced that backing out of the garage close to the wall nearly half out. Have to go forward and reverse again to disengage it.

Does this automatic braking stuff exist on the MT cars? Can it be turned off? Seems like a lot of people have problems with it.

A buddy of mine had an F150 that would slam on the brakes about one out of every twenty times you passed a semi. Of course the dealer could never replicate, so he couldn't do anything but trade it.
I've had my car flash a warning at me for getting close to the car infront, but that's about it. (Wasn't tailgating I was just coasting up to a parked car on a side street waiting for oncoming traffic to pass, and got kinda close before I moved back over)

Although one of the first things I did when I got the car home was disable every driver assistance setting I could in iDrive, so might need to wait for another MT owner who left the assists on to chime in.

Aside from the car I had a 92 year old woman chase me down on foot to tell me how much she liked it. I was like what is she doing. Surprised me she even cared.

Definitely an unusual experience.

I have the lane keep assist and some other junk turned off, but left the parking sensors on. The lane keep assist is hyperactive on the narrow rural roads around here. Only really "works" on the interstate which is a good bit wider and more consistent. Plus it's always fun trying to dodge some roadkill and the car tries to fight you.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve noticed or had happen since owning your Supra?

I had my alarm go off while driving on the highway. I couldn’t get it to stop until I turned the car off and restarted it. Only happened that time and no issues again. I asked the master tech at my dealership and said that happens on rare occasions on BMWs and they have no idea why. It was strange indeed.

What are your unusual happenings?
My alarm also went off on the highway - you can thank the giant panic button on the key that will get pressed by anything in your pocket.

Was out datalogging and stopped for some food. I had the OBD cable still connected and once I locked the doors the alarm went off. Unlocked, relocked, same thing.

Took me a min or two to figure out it might have to do with the cable. Weirdest thing is it won't do it with the Wifi dongle but does it with the wired ethernet cable. Wtf?

I can only speak to the bm3 wifi dongle. But it states on their site it uses less power when not in use so it doesn't trip the alarm. But others continue to use x amount of voltage which causes the alarm to go off.

Not being able to put the fucker in reverse when picking it up at the dealership brand new.

What a load of bollocks: "oh, all bmws are like that" - no excuses, it's garbage, period, any other manual car I've driven had a simpler, safer, more intuitive MT, this isn't a racecar - I'm British so I only ever drove manuals all my life, it's not 'exotic' here, it's common to have experienced dozens of MT trans in UK/EU - At least all the forward gears are so phenomenally engaging and good that it makes up for it...

My 6MT Toyota Tacoma has the exact same lockout. I prefer it, it's a lot faster to disengage than a collar or a push-down style.
