I don’t know but if you watch BMS last video on their Supra, I think they talk about it.
Yeah I saw it that’s why I asked. Guess they installed it just to get the ethanol content reading.

@ColonelAdama - do you ever see the need to change or adjust maps with extreme temp swings? I had a Map6 created mid summer, temps 90+ degrees that ran great. With winter here in NH its well below freezing and surely gas is different. That same map6 runs terribly and has a lot of throttle closure. Could this be temp related? Changes to gasoline around here with winter? Maybe a stretch....any way the AA catted downpipe is clogged? Running out of ideas. Map 1 / 2 seem to run ok.

Yeah absolute maps don't adapt super well with temps, so I have been recommending IAT spoofing when using them lately.

Appreciate it. Car is a monster when it’s like 80* outside. Been in the teens and twenties here and I get so much throttle closure unless I’m map 1 or 2.

If the car is great at 80 degrees out, try IAT spoofing at 100.

6cyltiming=100

(apparently the new app just has it listed as IAT spoofing)

wait what? what does IAT spoofing do? Please don't tell me it spoofs what IAT really is.
Yep, just with the purpose of setting base timing.

dme boost targets and timing jumping all over the place with IATs just doesn't work that well on JB4 absolute imo.. Like, you will lose power throughout the pull as dme targets climb and JB4 absolute targets don't. (and timing just drops)

I don't recommend spoofing lower than 100 unless using E30+ or winter temps.

Regardless, I still prefer additive since I find it more compatible with the dme logic. No spoofing needed.

That is the multiplier table to ignition correction with IAT temp. Absolutely insane to spoof that with no control over the main IAT ignition correction table. RIP anyone that tracks with a JB4 and that spoofing on. Not to mention other tables that depend on IAT reporting. RIP your knock tables.

Also, one of those axis is wrong in your screenshot. ;)

Yep, well, they've done it with N54s for almost 20 years without issue. I'm not concerned.

Whatever table I shared not being the main one isn't really the point. Its just that variable base timing is not compatible with absolute boost targeting. Spoofing freezes all IAT-based timing tables.

not my table, take it up with ecutek lol

LOL.

Wrong is wrong. N54 lmao. "Without issue". Yea... okay. I know you make money tuning these things and a good guy for helping everyone but good lord what trash that product is. Doesn't help that Terry is almost as big of a D-Nozzle as Visconti.

Yup I know it's ecutek, and a lot of things are not correct in their definitions.

brother I have not even made a week's worth of my day-job pay doing this for a year ? I have no skin in the game so there's really no need to go on the offensive.

I'm literally doing it for fun just like you have your tune thread. Because its the right platform for me and many others at this time, anything else is a bonus.

And there's really no need to try and undermine my recommendations to @Timmy_Jones , unless you can prove to me why spoofing at 100F while his ambients are in the teens is dangerous in any way whatsoever. I would argue it is more conservative. What I am doing is not unlike anything Terry at BMS or Jesse would do.

Genuinely if you have something to educate me, I'm all ears. I've only seen as many of the dme tables as I could research.

You can download tunerpro and all the XDF and BINS off MHD and MG GitHub’s and see everything.

Well said & truly appreciate what you do broham! Glad you brought up this whole idea (thread) up in the first place. Helping others out with less knowledge is what this whole forum is about (and fun). I even appreciate the more experienced banter back and forth. The only way we learn is by sharing knowledge and learning from our mistakes.

As stated before, I only run mine off track. When it‘s cooler out (like now), using Jesse’s custom Map 6, it’s truly incredible. Driving around in town I can’t even floor it or she’ll get loose. And there is plenty of cool down in between giving it gas.

When it’s hot out (80F+ March onward), I turn it down to Map 2. No one told me to. I just figured since it goes limp on track almost immediately in Map 6, after a few laps in Map 3, and in Map 2 it takes much longer, and only semi limp. It’s weird… like the car will only run at about 70-80% power when it happened (2x). Freaked me bad enough, I haven’t’ run it since on track. I just figured I don’t want to overdo anything (reduce engine life).

Is that sound reasoning? Just leave it in Map 2 until I can afford the time & money to ship my car’s brain ? overseas and do the MHD Stage 2? Or send you my damn log like I was suppose to of my wife driving on track on Map 0 and leave it off until I do?

It's possible that the JB4 just reverted to Map 0 if any safety was tripped. Whether it be fueling, boost, knock related. I can see if it was in a log.

Next time you're on an empty highway ramp, just punch it in 3rd for a log. No need to wait for a track day and can still avoid speeding too much.
