My DAW order took 8 weeks even though Shawn quoted 4 weeks tops. Same as you got told

on top of that, took another 8 weeks to get out a different drain hose and oil feed restrictor to stop the turbo smoking and burning oil

That being said, it’s held up with 0 issues for the last year over quite a few hard track days. Although I’m only at 29psi and 550whp. The turbo has a lot more to give. Gonna give it some E soon

Yeah i'm fine with the turbo itself. People (understandably) have issues with the owner, but their turbos, especially the newer ones have been fine. Spent some time on the BMW forums doing some reading there.

Was the Ultraflow X changed at any point? The one i bought says "new gen"

Not sure when the new gen was released. I bought mine in September 2024. Hope they fixed the oil consumption issues in the new gen

although when I bought it, he did say they charged something but it still smoked.

You don't need it as we already adjusted the oil amount from within the turbo.. Gen 2 cars can't have the same amount of oil going through it as Gen 1 cars so we had to limit it... Not all cars are affected, bmw is very inconsistent on these g2 cars...
^ context: me asking about the restrictor supplied to another UFX user (Nate from our group)

Yeah that's why i asked....because Sam like to run a bit more boost on pump than i'm comfortable with. Far be it from me to challenge Sam, as he clearly knows his shit, but i personally don't understand his logic. He also likes more meth than eth. Again confusing to me.

Ok so this is actually pretty hilarious. We barely got the car ready in time for the last piece. It was a mad rush post accident to get the oem parts painted and on, the new arms, wheels etc....We also put an air dam on because the APR spitter comes without one, and that was far from ideal. Anyway, turns out we forgot to put the spacer in the middle back on, and so the middle of the splitter was pointing upwards. Everything was so rushed that i didn't notice until after the race

lift off!

Lol no I already paid for the turbo. The next day they told me that they're going to need up to 4 weeks to ship. There was no mention of a backorder the product page, so I asked if they could cancel my order and refund me. They said nope. I'm ok with the turbo, not so much with the timeline.
to be fair, it's because of black friday. last I saw, they got a ridiculous amount of orders during the "power hour" sale alone. so they preordered a bunch of inventory but they have to work through all the orders. everybody's in backorder during this time every year.

I am by all accounts an understanding customer. Racebred told me they forgot something with my order and would need a few extra weeks. No problem, shit happens. Alcon was 5 weeks late with my order before i said uhh guys?

So let's say i shouldn't give DAW grief for their lack of diligence here - extra orders on black Friday isn't exactly something that should take them by surprise, so they could've at east given us a heads up on possible ETA delays. What's their excuse for not giving me a refund after i was told they'd need up to 4 weeks to ship?

I have a legitimate reason for needing (not just wanting) my shipment at an earlier date....we're mid race season here, as opposed to most others who are in the middle of winter now. So do you think an appeal to emotion would make a difference to them? Obviously not. So with that in mind, why should i be understanding towards a brand and an owner that wouldn't offer me the same courtesy?

i'm saying that this is the case for multiple companies during this season because they preorder inventory in preparation and they cannot stock it waiting for more order next year, so sales are final. that has been my experience.

Alcon Calipers turned out nicely. Crappy pic because it's actually a screenie from a video.

(used gemini to remove some people from the background)

Why is the wastegate flapper arm top welded like that? None of my Pures look like that. All OEM looking. Was that done outside of Pure?

That turbine also does not look like a 800 turbine. I also didn't listen to video audio so you can tell me I don't have the right context. :)

My Pure 800 on left, Pure 700 on right, neither have welded wastegate flappers.
