The absolute cheapest Intake Manifold I could find online, want some thoughts on it if anyone has tried or even seen it before.

Hello, I am posting because I wanted to ask for genuine feedback regarding this intake manifold I bought on eBay it is literally the cheapest intake manifold for a Gen 2 b58. It’s cast and says a few have sold, I am wondering if anyone has ever bought this here.

I mostly bought it out of curiosity but compared to other cast ones it doesn’t seem half bad, but since I am getting ready for a new build I am iffy about it and don’t know the consequences if it were to fail outside of spending more money.

I have been looking at other ones from companies like Wagner and CSF, but I am just trying to see if that price gain justifies a build going for low 700whp to mid 700whp from a pure 800 and port injection.

I am still in my return window and can return it, but wanted to get some inputs before I do, or if I should just run it and hope for the best.

If everyone just thinks it’s utter trash I will just return it and buy a Wagner one most likely, I was just interested in the Alibaba route since most are made in China and some of their quality is pretty good when you find the right suppliers.

Have at it and let me know what I should and shouldn’t look out for, and what I should do before my return period ends. Thank you!

There's only a certain amount you can tell about the quality by looking at it. A pressure test would be a good place to start for further examination. Pretty easy to do.

Well the gold standard would be to blank one of the coolant holes, inlet or outlet with a pressure gauge in the blank and attach a fitting with an air supply to the other fitting and pump it up to 25psi or so. The supply fitting could be something as simple as a connection with a car tyre valve assembly and pumped up with shop air or even a pushbike pump. Pump it up to 25psi or thereabouts, let the pressure stabilise for 30 minutes and take a reading and make sure it holds pressure for a few hours. You can also do the same thing and use some water with some soap dissolved in it and squirt it all around the core and see if any bubbles form to identify leaks. It won't tell you if it's leaking on the air side of course but thats not quite as important but you can use the same technique with the air side as well.

So, either go with a dual pass Wagner manifold or go with the Evolution Of Speed manifold with a single pass PWR radiator.

I do know EOS tends to be the highest rated but at 5k I feel I hit a point of diminishing returns since I am not seeking 1000hp+. Wagner after reading around in the forum, people tend they are a let down performance wise, considering price. So I am at a crossroads regarding it.

Interesting, didn’t know I could do this. Would it be better to have someone like a shop do this, or just undergoing it myself?
