I'm sorting PPF since my daily driver mazda this will be replacing looks like it has more rock chips than paint after 2 years of highway driving. Also rock guards seem to make a bunch of sense to me. I bought these
Toyota Supra ARMASPEED Rock Guards
These are another popular set
Supra 19-24 Standard Rock Guards – ZL1 Addons

I bought a downpipe because there was a good special on. Been reading the forums to try to get as much of a heads up as possible. I've also bought some tessa tape/ fabric loom tape because of all the rattling complaints.

It's rubbish how little they communicate with you. I was told end of November after ordering in June, then early December, then christmas, now february. And they still can't give me an accurate date despite being on the boat.

While I wait for my car (nearly 2 months in and no news other than that the order has been confirmed), is there anything I should be buying in anticipation of collecting my car?

I have looked at the licence plate piece, and also the carbon wind breakers off Amazon. Anything else worthwhile?
I went through this while waiting for my Focus RS, never again. I bought a whole lot of useless stuff because people on forums said they were a "must have" and I ended up selling 90% of it unused. Just wait for the car to arrive and see what you think and upgrade accordingly. Far too much exaduration on forums about "problems" that mostly don't exist. The exceptions would be the front plate mount, stone guards and mats. The front plate mount to avoid drilling the front bar and the mats and stone guards for protection. Wind deflectors on the doors adjacent to the side mirrors? No not for me as I never drive with the windows down anyway, cause it's the 21st century ;)

Yep, exactly as Phil suggests! Wait until it arrives and see how you feel a month into ownership. I got restless waiting and also ended up with stuff that the car didn't actually need. Things like the exhaust for example, the OEM one got a little louder after a few thousand km's so did I really need that $5k system that I purchased while waiting? probably not. The money could have been better used elsewhere. Same goes for a remote exhaust valve controller and some other items that were recommended on the forums.

As for the stuff I did keep or have purchased since delivery,
  • Mud/rock guards. The shape of the side and the way the front tire sits means that every small puddle flicks road junk all the way up to the window.
  • Full body PPF. It was expensive, but it means I can use it like it's meant to be used without pulling painful faces each time a rock bounces off the front. I can also use those terrible DIY car wash brushes without consequence when on road trips.
  • Replacement steering wheel. This is possibly my favorite mod. The way it improves the steering feel cannot be put into words. It also drastically improves the overall quality of the interior.
  • Replacement badges (no chrome)
  • Wind deflectors. Get the ones that have the small lip running up the rear edge. I had the curved ones that had no rear lip initially and they didn't do anything.
  • Eibach Sway bars, F & R. I'm not down with the body roll on this car but this is highly subjective. These are not yet installed so can't comment on how I feel about them yet.
  • Stay away from AliExpress, I thought I'd test it but ended up with a rear lip that took 3 months to arrive and fitment was terrible. $250 wasted and it's still sitting there in my garage. Go with a semi reputable brand like Rexspeed if considering something like this.
Again though, wait until it arrives and order stuff based on your own experience with it.

FYI my car is rattle free so don't just assume they all have rattles out of the box just because it's on the forums.

That's good to know about the rattles! I ordered extra fabric tape but I've needed it for trying to quieten down my mkiv.

I keep reading stuff about the stereo but that's so subjective I'll wait and tadda had a good suggesting to trial before doing anything major. I can't find it anywhere in any of the release information but there appears to be less complaints about the stereo in around the 23+ models.

My only other issue is no Android auto. Might try otterbox or something like that. Listen to a lot of audible and Spotify

The Active Audio has a lot to do with the audio sounding bad. If you have a DP you'll probably turn that off so you should see some improvement there.

I'm also an Android user. I purchased a reconditioned iPhone, a cheap data only SIM and I've installed all my mapping and audio apps on there. The iPhone sits in the tray permanently. Might be a bit overkill but I hate janky charging cradles and phone mounts, and the cost of not having Waze running would be a lot more than the cost of the SIM. You can also connect a second phone via BT (my Android) for taking and making calls. It's a little clunky but you figure out methods to get to all working.

I have a MY23 and it doesn't rattle, proving the point that you should really wait and see.

The stereo is OK. The Tadda mod improves it a little but it won't turn it into an aftermarket Focal setup. The mod is cheap and a fun DIY project even I could do without screwing it up. And it does improve things a bit. As @Stedy suggested, turning off the fake exhaust helps also - You'll need Bimmercode and a OBDII dongle for that, unless you want to disconnect it physically. But coding out other stupid shit with Bimmercode is a must anyway as far as I'm concerned, so yeah.

My only other issue is no Android auto. Might try otterbox or something like that. Listen to a lot of audible and Spotify
Buy an iPhone or take a look at Bimmertech's offerings. I had their MMI installed just to use a front parking camera. ?

Hi all,

Does anyone know when Toyota Australia will close the order books for the Supra?

I ordered in November 2024 - I got pushed by my dealer to finally bite the bullet, citing internal information they had. They implied leaving it to end of January was risking it.

They will take your money either way I think, considering Track Edition and final pricing is not out yet.

Where you based and what specs are you considering getting?

I don't think anybody really knows but with wait times still hovering over ten months, you're playing a dangerous game.

Thanks for the insight. Was just happy with an auto GTS.

I've got some personal finance I'm sorting out so I actually don't want the car for another 6-7 months, but I'm also afraid I might not get the chance to place an order. Given the lead time, I think I might have to just place an order.

Man car sales people are annoying!
So far I've had, oh sorry, we can't include ppf on your car loan. Then he wouldn't answer my calls. Then I sent him a message saying thanks for letting me know, I think westpac will, I'll arrange things with them.
Then I had 4 missed calls from him.
We eventually got in touch and apparently he was just thinking about the expense for me or something stupid.
Car is due 15th-18th.then he said it might be ready next week. He'll check with the manager and call back in half an hour.
Can they install the flow license plate bracket? Just drill 2 instead of 4 holes. I'll check with the manager and call back. Dude has never given me an answer.
So annoyed with dealing with them, can't wait until it's done

Sorry to hear about your experience. Hopefully it arrives soon! How long have you been waiting now?

Since June last year, so not as long as some. They have changed the confirmed delivery date so many times. Car was built in October and I'm only getting it this month. Just been sitting out on the dock in the salt air or whatever they said

Dude! Don't do the flow license plate bracket. If you can get the car delivered without the nose being molested, there are much better ways to afix a number plate to our cars!
