Toyota FT-1 concept & A90 Supra design dissected

Do you care if the next Supra has a "corporate image?"

  • No, as long as it looks good, I don't care if the rest of Toyota's line up is designed around it.

  • Yes, the Supra should be completely unique looking even among Toyota's fleet.

i dont like how all of these renders are blacking out the lip. i'd much rather have the 2 vertical pieces coming off the nose be blacked out and the lip be body colored. look at the new camry for instance...

Disagree. The Camry has blacked out grill slits/pillars to give it some faux aggressiveness. This car is going to look plenty aggressive and it doesn't need more black to make the intake grill look larger. The lip should be black, it underlines the grill features, it shouldn't be painted as if it was a part of it.

A pillars, roof line, double bubble roof, and quarter panel window gives off a FT-1 vibe.

^Online people are saying it does remind them of a mini Aston Martin from the side.

I think something like this would be a nice compromise. Looks modern and flows well with the lines of the MKV but with a slight nod to the design of the MKIV taillights.

imagine the time it would take to put them on there?

Has anyone noticed the Pics of the 2019 Lexus LS-f concept. That its sporting the same headlights as the FT-1. Maybe a preview of things to come its set to debut at the Tokyo Show.

no such thing as an LS-F according to my information; they are testing an "F-Sport" model however.

Thanks for that. I appreciate it.

Does Lexus have any next generation F-cars that are bring developed or considered? I ask this because I am actually a Lexus guy who considers the Supra an attractive (and currently, #1) alternative compared to the RC-F and GS-F, mainly because of pricing. But because those cars are not packaged competitively in terms of performance/weight/price and I have been considering for the next generation of F-cars... I wanted to ask if you've heard anything on that.

If we have a new generation of F-cars, then I will wait. BUT if not, then I may consider just buying a current gen now and have it as sort of a novalty out of production item like the IS-F.

interestingly enough, there was talk of bringing back the IS-F, but I cant diverge any more than that.

I dont really agree with the ideology of bringing it back, but with the current pricing structure I can see the argument. GS pricing is designed to place it more equidistant between IS and LS, but I'm not im not in marketing so.

LC-F is the talk of the town for now and I'm actually WAY more excited for that car than anything else. I'm curious to see if they drop some weight and really try to make it competitive on the track.
