Isn't the bracing very similar to what you would get from Cusco? I understand the dampening aspect. Tune and downpipe will fix the power increase pretty quick, which was what I was planning on already.
I don't care. What I do care is that locally, they don't seem to know much about the car and how it works and have one person that is supposed to be able to work on it. But if there are like 3 or 4 in the area, how many times will that mechanic have real hands on experience? Very little. So the 2020 will have real service issues, if and when the time comes that more than an oil change is needed.

I cant see how this will be a problem, it will probably be the same Supra tech to handle all the Supra. Im willing to bet (cause I dont know yet) that the power increase is just modified ST. Maybe they need to hire a bmw MT to handle Supra LOLOL
I mean in general, there will be no real hands on as there have only been a couple sold in the area so the frequency of a repair encounter should be low, and so the hands on experience. A good mechanic of course has lots of experience in general but it still helps to have the contact with the machine a few times. I used to rebuild engines so I have a basic understand of any but then look at the engine etc. I watched a totally tear down and really enjoyed it.

I hear you, when I took my mine in for a Battery light check, they kept it for 9 hrs. Had toyota on the line, the special tech, and someone else for full documentation. And all they ended up doing was clearing the code and registering the battery? Must be a BMW thing

Yup, driven the ND when it first launch in an autox setting. Your point is fair enough, but personally, I still wouldn't call that fun when I have to brace myself in the car with the roll when trying to get through a corner quickly.
you're on to something there. I love driving the ND Miata. It does indeed feel like you're hauling ass when you're not going that fast at all. It's quite amazing to experience.
I've never autox'd or raced one, but I could see how the excessive roll would be less than fun in that scenario.
In the sports car world I think it sounds counterintuitive, but at least in the Miata's case the roll was designed in for a reason. In my NC2 and ND I found that perceived speed was reduced when I modified the suspension to eliminate roll. Which in the end made the cars less enjoyable for me on my favorite roads.
You gotta drive one! The sound alone is intoxicating. The way the stock exhaust winds up at high rpms brings a massive smile to my face. The active sound through the speakers helps with all that. My first mechanical mod is gunna be to get a very good exhaust that will be slightly louder than stock but keep the pitch of the engine/exhaust note quite the same. I will then delete the active sound through speakers and enjoy the natural sound of the aftermarket performance exhaust.
