Apparently Alcantara steering wheels are the worst offenders - they get grungy and can't be cleaned properly.

Alcantara steering wheels just need to be looked after. Clean dry grease free hands or driving gloves and your good to go.

Yes Alcantara probably not best for the steering wheel, I believe Lexus uses some in the steering wheel but not all of it...

BMW interiors aren't bad, they're just a little boring.

I very much doubt we're getting anything resembling that glorious FT1 interior. But I'd love to be surprised.

Yeah I'll take leather over alcantara. At least on the wheel and gearshift. Pref perf leather. Alcantara wears down overtime, like a microfiber rag. Eventually it's no longer soft and nice, no matter how you care for it. Also the alcantara fabric tends to hold moisture if your hands sweat at all. Leather is typically always nice and grippy and generally lasts forever.

interestingly, in the mule, it appears the dash binncale that hides the gauges is small - smaller than the steering wheel diameter.

could it just have a screen there - no analogue gauges ALA Lexus RC F?

It reminds me of the small MA61 binnacle - which was similar in the LFA, funnily enough (for those lucky enough to have driven one <3)

I too pray for a more driver focused interior, its what the car deserves. I debated an M2 when it was first released, the interior was typical BMW and left me feeling like I was driving a 320i... YAWN!

I hope it looks like the C7. I feel that interior has a "modern day Supra" feel to it.
