He's talking about this: https://www.toyota.com/search-inventory/model/supra/

For anyone who got their car recently and is on the east coast, how long did it takes yours to make it through port?

Mine should have arrived at NYC on Monday and I'm trying to get an idea of how much longer I'll have to wait.

My BLUPRA0 arrived in Blatimore. If yours arrived in Jersey the times will be different.
Id say 1-2 weeks from port is a fair arrival expectation depending on how far from port you are.

CHEERS!

An update for my supra that disappeared from the inventory website last week. Confirmed that it was damaged in transit and Toyota decided to buy it back. Dealer told me they could get a replacement but with no ETA. Currently deciding on what to do. I figure if I waited again I'd maybe have it in 3-6 months but is it worth it to see what updates for next model year are? I've been toying on just getting a Miata or something too.

At this point, I'd look at the 2024 model if you really want the Supra.

Also ask for pictures of the damage, just out of curiosity.

That blows... but if you think about it, it is better for Toyota to pull the car than fix it and sell you a repaired vehicle. These vehicle tracking threads have really sort of shown me how common it is for new vehicles in transit to be destroyed.

When I started looking last summer the 2022 model year was done shipping and I got caught in the wait for the 2023s. I was offered several 2022s with inflated prices or options I didn't want so I opted to wait for a 2023... which took 6 months from July. If you intend to wait for a 2024 I imagine your wait time will easily be that or more until the first 2024 models arrive. If you can wait (or even want to wait) honestly time can only benefit you at this point, as the further we get out of the production shortfalls from the pandemic and crawl into a possible recession I'd think the pricing and availability of sports cars will only improve for the buyer.

The question is the wait. Having already waited, and had one rug pulled out from under you, do you want to go through the process a second time? Or would you rather shop to see what is actually on a lot somewhere? Again, the further we get out of the pandemic market I would think things would only improve for a buyer.

Got an update from my dealer. Now showing stateside arrival 3/25. Then maybe 30-45 days afterwards it arrives at the dealer. All likelihood late April delivery. Oh well haha all we can do is wait

Can I get more info on your story? it seems eerily similar to mine..

Mine got put into a HOLD status on 2/7 while it was on the "Rail Arrive" Status (just before the On Truck for Delivery and Arrival at Dealership) with a build date of 11/8.
It got pulled from all the inventory sites etc. The dealer had no clue as to what was going on or why it was on hold or the ETA... On the toyota tracker, it said the car was back into "Allocation" status.

Then out of the blue, i got a message from the dealer on 3/9 saying the HOLD was lifted and the car moved from "Allocation" to "Freight" again.

My original expected delivery date was mid Feb, and now its looking like late March or April.

I never had a "HOLD" on my car. It never left F/Freight status. It disappeared from Toyota's inventory website and https://toyota-tracker.com returned an error message saying Toyota has stopped returning information on the car. It took reaching out to the dealership to get more information.

This is what my dealer told me
So this is what I heard from my managers. There seem to be some sort of accident that occurred and unfortunately there were damage on that vehicle. Toyota decided to buy it back and will be getting a replacement for you! They have not told me when that will be but hopefully soon
Some people have accused the dealership from selling the car to someone else but I highly doubt this. I live in MN and a car like this isn't really as sought after here given we really only have 6-7 months of driving weather for this type of car. I have since requested my deposit back because I dont really want to go through the waiting game again. I'll wait for next model year to see if they come out with anything cool like a convertible version, and maybe the market cools off a bit. I'll play with my other toys in the meantime and like I said im considering just going Miata since its going to be my first RWD car.

I've owned two Miatas (NA and an NC) and honestly you will not be disappointed with them. They very much embody the "go-kart" reputation they have. While I have not driven the newest iteration (the ND2) my assumption is it handles and drives very similarly to the previous generations.

If I had a complaint against them it is that they are slow. That is not necessarily a "bad" thing, as it is definitely true at times that it can be more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. I definitely did not have the problem I have with my Supra with either of my Miatas... that problem being keeping the thing under the speed limit. My Miatas were fun to wind up and dart around in, while my Supra feels like that scene in Futurama where Fry goes to the moon for the first time (you're there before the countdown is even finished).

If I was getting a new Miata, I'd get the hard top RF. Having owned two soft tops they were both noisy, cold in the winter, hot in the summer, and eventually the tops wear out and have to be replaced. Plus soft top cars are crime magnets, I had both my Miata tops cut open by thieves.

Long shot question but anyone here ever get an update from the dealer and have the Vessel Depart Date and Processing Date change to something weird. Here's a screenshot I got from the dealer back in the middle of February. I talked to the dealer yesterday and they were saying the Vessel Depart date has changed from 3/15/2023 to 5/15/2023 with the Vessel Arrive date staying at 3/25/2023 and the Processing date changed from 3/29/2023 to 5/29/2023 LOL. They're hoping it's just a glitch in the system and that it will still ship out this week. They'll reach out to me by end of the week to give me an update. Just wanted to know if anyone else had possibly had this happen to them and what the exact outcome was.

At one point mine went from 02/07 vessel depart to 04/15 or something like that. My dealer spoke to their rep and they said they were just waiting on a ship. Apparently there is a shipping vessel shortage at the moment.

Mine ended up getting on a ship about 2 weeks later rather than 2 months. I'm guessing it will be the same for yours. For reference, mine was built 01/09 and is currently awaiting processing at the Newark port.
