After being lied to by Priority, Checkered flag and another dealer near Baltimore. I wanted to make my intentions clear to Charles Barker I wanted my 3.0 Premium at MSRP. I was going to do 15k down anyway so figured I'd just expend it now to make a point.

You can get them to give you in writing for MSRP along with a lower downpayment. If you did not get it in writing, they can always put a markup for it later. You now would have to wait for them to give you back 15k and it can take them "some" time to get that 15k back to you due to "accounting cycles". I seen it happened before.

Oh no, I have it in writing. I made it very clear if I was going to drop a huge amount I was going to have it in writing. They said they will be doing a 5k markup on the LE only because it's a numbered car. Regular allocations they will sell at MSRP. I am first on the list thankfully.

I I have deal for you. I put my name out to two different dealers who will sell a Launch edition at MSRP. Got a call yesterday from my local preferred dealer and he was able to get me the color I wanted so I am set. Then got a second call today from my second choice dealer and he has a Black Launch edition available at MSRP if you want to travel to upstate NY.

Did they ever send you a spec sheet of your second choice? I currently have an allocation set for a black LE at the dealer where I put the deposit down back in January. At the time agreed they’d sell it MSRP and now at 5k markup. If I can get one w/o markup that would be awesome

if anyone has a LE confirmed at MSRP and for whatever reason does not want it anymore please let me know. I will fly anywhere in the USA to buy it and drive that bad boy back to TX. All my dealers in Houston want 15k over MSRP.

Any dealership selling over MSRP should be called Stealership

Yeah I agree with you 100 percent. I love the look of Black but not the work involved in keeping it nice. What color are you getting? I am getting the Red.

Received confirmation on single allotment Camelback Toyota in AZ is receiving. It will be red. They sent me their allotment sheet straight from Toyota. I asked about MSRP and have not heard back yet.

    They are accepting offers/bids LOL

Have any of you gone into a dealership and when asking about the car, the sales people ask YOU about the car instead clearly showing you know more?

I was in a dealership yesterday who I plan on purchasing my 3.0 Premium from. The sales man started asking me if it’s going to have a manual and how many THEY were going To be allocated.

Seems like a large amount of dealerships have no clue about this car they are trying to sell.

Yes, nothing new. July 22 date was mentioned a few times when dealers will have more info on things.
They have some info if the branch manager or an employee has shown interest in the car. Otherwise only thing they seem to know is what they see on their Dealer daily or whatever the software is called that shows their allocations, etc.
The one's that know the car and are greedy, mark it up.
I have never before inquired dealers before a car hit the market, so I don't know if this lack of information at this stage of vehicle is specific to Toyota or common practice in the US.
