That's interesting and possibly useful to.know.
A couple questions-
1. Can you elaborate on how you determined the resonance issue is fixed? Roads, speeds, miles covered with the new tires.
2. What tires did you purchase to replace the oem tires? How many miles had you on the originals before you replaced them?
This info could help a lot of us in reassuring that tire replacement is the answer, the fix to this problem that's plagued a bunch of us from the day we bought our GR Suoras.
Appreciate your sharing what you have, look forward to hearing more.

Found out my tires were really low on air. Down to 30 PSI.

Filled them up and will update with findings when I get a chance.

Changed my wheels and tires at 3500 miles.
Previously, had no vibration at all.

With new Advans and Michelin PS4S, I now have a slight vibration that you all are talking about in the 70mph range.
Wheels were balanced and aligned.
Tire pressure is 38-40.

I didn’t look thru the entire thread but is this issue only on 2021 models? I have a 2020 and 2022 and don’t have it on either. Did the shop at least put all your wheels on the balancer to see if they could improve any of them? Likely in the rear since that’s where the drivetrain is. I know they have changed the suspension every model year so I was curious if related to 2021 model year only.

I had similar at factory tire pressures. I lowered my pressures to 33 PSI cold with significant improvements. If I go to the 37 to 38 PSI recommended pressures it gets bad. I plan buying BCforged wheels and changing tires this summer,I think it will make it all go away.

I do not know why Toyota specifies 38 PSI for Supra. Z4 M40i manual talks about 32 PSI for the same tire size which is used in Supra.

I have a 2023 and I have vibrations, I’m starting to think it might be the tires, I’ve noticed a trend of ppl saying it goes away after they change tires.

Small update on my issue, got new front tires and fixed the problem. Although the front left was the one making a noise, I drove over a monster pothole on the right side which instantly deflated it. So kind of worked out to replace both at the same time.

Car drives great and straight however...should I get an alignment or just roll with it? Its a little hard to find a shop that has the weights BMW claims are necessary for the alignment,
To me an alignment is a cheap piece of mind. If the shop has a Hunter alignment machine, that’s a great start. It’s what BMW uses. Eccentric lockouts also help with upgraded parts. Most BMW race shops should be able to point you in the right direction.

Gas mileage. VW says 40 psi for my wife’s GTI. It felt awful, imo! Dropped those puppies down to 36 psi (cold) and wow, what a difference. Put my track tires down to 24 psi yesterday (I usually start at 28 psi cold). But thanks to a pro driver’s recommendation, much better! The grip was insane 🤤

I think higher tire pressure is recommended for low 35 aspect ratio tires to protect wheels in case of pot holes.

Beware of the risk of ripping your tire out of the rim or damaging the flank at these pressures. With semi-slicks it's ok because they heat up and increase pressure, but I don't know for road tires.

Totally agree. I screwed up & got lucky. I definitely set my tires before the 1st run and check them as the day heats up. As for the street cars in my family, I set it and forget it. Unless we’re taking a trip or the TPM light comes on…

I have new 2023 3.0 Supra, first drive today and feel vibrations at 100-115 km/h :(
It has factory pressure of 2,9 bar, but I went down to 2,4 bar without any difference

Did you get an alignment yet? This would be the 1st on my list.

To date lots of reports on this but as far as I know no definitive cause or fix.

I’d get an alignment, is what I’m suggesting :) It helped me and many others on this forum for various shudder or vibrations while driving. Yes it could be something else. But most people will get an alignment done after purchasing the car.

So if you haven’t done this yet, I would. Hope that helps.
