Technically, you actually loose a measurable amount of power with it on. Before everyone says BS i understand 1kg of weight gain doesn't directly correlate with a 1 hp loss or vise versa but there is some fraction of hp you loose. Now how much that amount is dependent on each car but id say with confidence it isn't 0.

fraction of hp is still some fraction....and me being me that is too much to loose. Yeeet that shit off.

This gives me the motivation now to loose some weight in the gym.

I would have said the main thing this engine cover does is protect the paint on the hood from getting too hot and damaging it over time especially when car gets parked after a long drive? (purely a guess on my part!) ?

The primary reason is simply looks; the B58 looks like a mess without the cover on. Car companies care about prettying up their products.

However, the true reason that nobody understands is that the humble B58 enjoys wearing a fancy hat. Do you dare rid it of its flair?

gotta accept that this specific lady looks better with a Hat on.
