Didnt know modification is so hard in Germany. If I were you I would either use JB4 or leave it alone. And then save those money for the next car like M4 or 911.

Downpipe + Jb4 was fun; better response.

Femto unlock tune and only FBO was fun and I considered it was more than enough to enjoy the car for a whole year till now i went with PTB twin disk clutch and pure 800.

I can guarantee you that you'll enjoy the car even with just downpipe and exhaust.

Personally I am choosing not to increase the power in this car. It doesn't need it as a street car. What it DOES need, especially the manuals, is better rear end stability. That's where my focus has been and it's paid off tremendously.

Now to rebuttal myself, $5k for 140 extra hp that is reliable isn't actually that bad of a deal. Lot's of people have spent double that for half the power increase on cars (including myself).

But my vote still says to not touch the power.

Last thing you wanna do is spend 5k to get 140hp or whatever then end up like this guy because you never gave yourself a chance to become intimate with how it is on factory power levels.

Those are the ones with traction control disabled. You can spot it a mile away.

I’ve already got a nice spoiler installed, along with a front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, mirror caps — the full package. It’s not riced out, but I do want it to be as fast and sound as good as it looks. And honestly, the EU-spec Supra is pretty tame — I really miss the pops and burbles. Every Hyundai i30N (or Veloster N for the Americans) sounds better!
Flashing the transmission with XHP will bring back the upshift burp that our EU spec'd supra's are missing from stock. It helps a little :)

ehhh nothing inherently wrong with driving with TC if you know what you're doing.

Edit: I meant with TC off

it cuts power right when you countersteer and then dumps the weight forward… nice way to find a wall

it really is designed to protect people that don’t know how to drive a fast rear drive car

having said that, it’s probably safer on the street to just leave it fully on and the street certainly isn’t a place to learn either

I don't know if it's stupid, but I'm kinda afraid to use JB4, because I think a full tune is somewhow "safer" for the engine compared to a piggyback. Especially since i heard jb4 is scuffed on a MT.

Bigger Turbo sounds really cool but I think I'm good with an intake, donwpipe and tune :). Want to stay legal here.

It was scuffed at the beginning of 2023, Jesse had to figure out new and different parameters to dial in for our car, but several revision later it was possible. Now there's a thread by ColonelAdams with a written guide.

Trust me downpipe and cat back exhaust will bring music to your ears when you downshift, redline shifts, rev match, intake for turbo spool (MST v2 in my case), etc.

Hey CULaterJimzo,

the funny part is that the JB4 route isnt even that much cheaper here than a full unlock. JB4 is like 750€ + 250€ paperwork + Downpipe 1,5k + install + Paperwork 500 ish = so 3k total instead of ~5k. So I gonna try the femto route but if this for whatever reason won't work I will consider JB4 for sure, thanks.

----

Btw I've already paid for and packaged my ECU to be unlocked by Femto. Femto advised me to declare a value of €40 if DHL asks and recommended not to insure the shipment. Since I’m in the EU, I think DHL marked the value field as "optional," so I left it blank and didn't add insurance.
Did I mess up by doing that, or is this the correct approach? I haven't sent the package yet, so in theory, I could still pay double to change if needed.
