Naa, don’t say that! It’s just the way the maps are set up, stage 3 is really for tracking. Stage 2 is what you want for everything else.Saw others recommend this might go this direction. Maybe I am finally getting old.
What were you worried about re: your warranty work? Would they even be able to detect this in-use?I uninstalled XHP as I've got some warranty work coming up. Kinda missed how smooth the shifts are stock tune.
Sure it's not as quick to shift but man stage 3 is lurching me around for months this is a nice change.
I’m going in for oil consumption TSB… didn’t want to take a chance that they would give me grief over it.What were you worried about re: your warranty work? Would they even be able to detect this in-use?
I haven't tried it in the Supra but in previous BMWs I found something like this worked better than the BMS blockers.A few of us put in kickdown blockers. https://burgertuning.com/products/bms-downshift-blocker
They required some 'modifications' (we hacked them to shit with a Sawzall).
I have a thread going with XHP support and they're 'looking into' the 2nd gear issue that we've been having up here.
Probably a good call, given they'll likely be ripping into your motor to a large degree and looking for an excuse to deny the, I imagine? I think I'm spoiled that my dealership DGAF about this stuff.I’m going in for oil consumption TSB… didn’t want to take a chance that they would give me grief over it.

I would think they don’t care, but it’s so easy to just flash back to stock before going in. Something this extensive you are correct no point in taking a risk. If significant scaring on the cylinders and stuff would mean that’s all out of pocket if they find anything obvious to use as ammo.Probably a good call, given they'll likely be ripping into your motor to a large degree and looking for an excuse to deny the, I imagine? Nice. Yeah, I also suppose it's a risk if they bring a tech from corporate in (who I imagine absolutely would give a shit) given the newness and expense behind this warranty work. I'm assuming Toyota does this. I know BMW and VW has done it in the past related to work I've had done on cars, and for stuff much smaller than this (though one of the VW fixes was due to it being a repeat issue that eventually turned into a recall). Good luck on the work!I would think they don’t care, but it’s so easy to just flash back to stock before going in. Something this extensive you are correct no point in taking a risk. I mean the way I see it is they don’t really care if it’s modded, but if it does appear I’m pushing the car really hard with a tune then it gets harder to argue it’s covered under warranty. I’ve already had the oil pump replaced and the oil level sensor all under warranty, I hope now to have new piston rings and maybe even a new engine.
A stick on doorstop thing. What is that?
This is some Walmart at 11pm, 6 beers in, track side engineering!A stick on doorstop thing.
Like I said I haven't tried it in the Supra but in previous BMWs I stuck it next to the kickdown switch and it was just the right height to physically stop you from pressing it.
Can your family stand to be in the car with those tranny mounts?Like @Thraxbert, I had planned on upping the m-blips settings for all gears, which I did (+7%) and reflashed the car (stage 3). I was out dicking around this morning and I have to say it makes the whole thing just feel sharper and more aggressive... and the pops and bangs louder. With the AA catted downpipe and AWE Track Edition exhaust, it was a little ridiculous. Something I wasn't expecting was this setting affecting the short rev when starting the car. My wife damn near shit her pants when I did a warm start in the garage, with her standing there, and it sounded like someone popping off a 9mm. My 4yo loved it, though. ?
More interesting, I picked the car up a couple of days ago after having the Twisted Tuning tranny mounts and SPL aluminum diff mounts installed (https://www.supramkv.com/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-supra-today.2074/page-545#post-209629). The 3->2 downshift roughness is completely gone. I noted this before and after increasing the m-blips setting. With that, one could hypothesize that what folks are feeling is the play of the rubber bushings with the higher intensity downshifts. I suppose this was predictable in hindsight, but I think it's interesting to note that xHP isn't doing anything that stiffer drivetrain mounts can't address.
You know, they weren't, IMO, nearly as bad as some folks on here made them out to be. But everyone has their own tolerance to NVH. The AWE Track Edition exhaust was a far more... obtrusive... modification. The car is really a "me" thing - the wife only rides in it once every couple of months at most so I can't say for sure yet, though. Kiddo hasn't ridden in it yet, either, after they were installed. Only had 'em since this past Wednesday. Can your family stand to be in the car with those tranny mounts?
