I'm sorry to say, but that's not a top-notch installation. The areas with a high probability of chipping are left uncovered; hood edges and accessible bumper edges should be folded.
It was either that or have a seam, I didn’t want a seam. They don’t make an Xpel sheet large enough. I would rather have 1/8” exposed over having a large seam or be forced to add a stripe to try to hide the seam.

He wrapped in some places, however didn’t recommend wrapping around the hood on the side edges as he said with the design of the hood, it would likely lift.

I know little to nothing about it, I just know I didn’t want a seam and I am happy with it.

I inspected the hood edges and I think my installer can tackle wrapping the edges especially the leading edge. There are a couple spots on the side edges where the land is too small, but I'll let him decide on those.

Hello all,

Just to clear a couple things up.
- The images you sent of your install (OP). If you're unhappy with anything, take it back to your installer (no matter the brand) and have them correct the areas of concern.

- Wrapping edges will void your warranty. This is NOT true with XPEL.

- Can you wrap edges with a pre-cut kit? Yes. In fact, our pre-cut kits come in the software with our recommendations for what edges are easy to wrap. That said, our installers have the tools in the software to go in and manipulate the pattern and wrap any edge they would like to. This is a huge benefit of going XPEL DAP (Design Access Program).

Thank you all for the kind words about XPEL. Let us know if we can address any questions or concerns.

I was told that if I wrapped things like door handles and what not and, as a result, there was lifting, then that would be up to me to raise it with the installer as Xpel PPF wasn't typically meant to go around parts like that. Is that not true?

Looking for some feedback from those that had their shop install XPEL's PPF Precut Bumper Kit...

And I'd also appreciate if you could post some closeups and comment regarding seam locations...

TIA!

It’s worked out great for me. I don’t see the seams until I get real close up to it. My installer did a fantastic job with it. I can get pics tomorrow. Anything specific areas you want pics of?

Apologies in the delay for the pics. I had to leave for work late on the 25th. I’ll be back Monday and will take pics then.

There are multiple bumper kits. Make sure you get the one you want

Ok here you go. Please remember these pics are extremely up close. Even close up I have to point out where the different seams are to people that ask. They’re very hard to see unless you know what you’re looking for. Once you get about a foot away the seams nearly disappear and by the time you back up 3 feet you can’t see them at all. My installer did an outstanding job getting everything to line up.

They did a great job with the seams...did you also have the lower splitter lip covered in matte clear?

Yes. The lower lip is covered in Xpel Stealth, their matte film, as well as the mirror caps, and rockers.

Anyone else having issues with the PPF failing? I have 3 places on the car first by the passenger side hood corner window where it is peeling off and by both of the "fake" vents in the front bumper are bubbling and peeling
Anyone else have this issue and what is my recourse? Car only has 400 miles on it!

Sounds like a poor install job. Return to the installer.
