Brought the car out to Midwest Bimmer Fest over the weekend. It was the first time it's been out since the EOSpeed turbo kit's been in. I haven't made a dyno appointment yet, but I know it's running 9.7 on low boost.

We still have a lot of finishing work to do: powder coat the charge pipes, replace all the janky nylon boost reference lines, re-trim the engine cover, catch can, etc. etc. But the kit is installed and putting in serious work.

Photo Credits to my buddy Kasey Meza.

Looking real good @zrk . That bottom mount is Sexy AF. Much better than the trucker horn look.

Can’t wait to see it once you go forged internals.

That's a nice curve for a stock longblock. What boost? A set of cams/springs would really wake things up.

Block and Head are going out to Billy this fall/early winter. 3.5bar.

Nice. Good move on building the block. What all are you having done the head? Honestly the TQ number makes me wince a bit. I've had the dubious owner of windowing a stock 2J block back in the day and it was not a happy ending, to say the least...

Went to the dyno yesterday. Dealt with a fuel pump/reflex issue. The aux LPFP wasn't kicking on when it should so the top end got a little dicey. We called after two pulls. Moderate boost, still stock block.

There's a ton of room left in the turbo, but I'm currently limited by trans, maybe the block-- we'll find out. I think we'd have tried to push a little harder if the LPFP wasn't giving me shit. Spare trans core is headed out now, then we'll push further.

How do you compare the pure setup with this setup for street driving? Problems and issues etc.

The Xona is great. X5s have the correct gen B58 for cloning. So I got that. It just happened to be what was available.

New stage 2 transmission, torque converter from Pure and a CF drive shaft from Titan/Driveshaft Shop went in today. Other small things, drive shaft loop & diff breather to clean up some of the mucky bullshit.

Is the driveshaft loop part of the safety spec in the series you race?

Is there an absolute HP number the car puts out which requires one or is it based on a % over stock HP or something like that? I'm pouring through a safety spec right now and am curious about the decisions series officials make at times.

Technically, NHRA says:

Driveshaft loop: A driveshaft loop is required on all vehicles running 13.99 or quicker and utilizing slicks; except vehicles running 11.49 or slower equipped with street tires.
